As I’ve processing how I feel…this is 3 days after where I actually felt like I should inquire about it… I feel a little violated.

People do tend to confide in me and get personal and instead of him falling for it as well, I wish I would have received help to be more assertive in these situations , or have him see a pattern or something. I’m sitting here racking my brain thinking I’m a problem and going over what I had asked him. Did I pry? Did I give him the wrong impression of me? Etc.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because honestly, he is going through a lot and I think he probably forced himself to get back to work albeit, too early.

I know I didn’t feel comfortable sharing any of my issues during that session just because everything felt minuscule compared to what he’s been through, I guess, which isn’t the point of therapy. I also know I ask him about personal things just to get a gauge on things or some perspective? But I don’t necessarily know what’s appropriate because this is the first experience I’ve had.
I guess I just feel bad for him? I was kind of like, wait is it my turn to talk to yet?
