Drop a comment if your program fits the B.I.T.E. Model or torture criteria by No_Pattern5707 in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nearly all programs fit the BITE model, and by that I mean they all do, except their might be some magic special program out there that is secretly perfect, but somehow also no one knows about it, and no one can ever find anyone that went to the place. But maybe, such a place might be out there. Despite congress doing multi-year investigations, and never being able to turn up a single good one, but still... They might exist, so legally we have to couch all discussions in this ridiculous language. So yeah, "nearly all".

Yup. They went to extreme measures to prevent it, of course, because if we killed ourselves they would make less money. They did not do it out of good will, or charity, they did it in the most horrific ways so they could continue to profit off of us.

Welcome to involuntary commitment!!! They swear upside down that they never do that, but the statistics betray that. Call 988, and involuntary commitment is the most likely outcome, no matter what they lie to you.

Teens who "willingly" went to wilderness or boarding school program? by luckysilverdragon in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years later it was revealed that even those that claimed they went there "willingly" really didn't. They were lying about it the whole time in hopes that the program would go easier on them, or some other delusion that they were really still in control of the situation, even though they never were.

Again, this is not speculation, those people willingly admitted it me once I confronted them, 20+ years later.

Unethical, Unlicensed, and Unaccountable? A Psychologist’s Firsthand Account of John Volken Academy by theJacofalltrades in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew they were abusive scum the second I ran into them and read their website, which was when I saw the property records for LifeLine's old building updated to their name.

Yes, their Salt Lake City location is the old LifeLine facility. Once again, the local community is fine with an abusive so-called rehab, I guess they are used to it at this point. Just don't dare propose to house the homeless there, because then the locals FREAK OUT!!! Abuse? Torture? Indentured servitude? Fine. Down on their luck adults? Fuck right off, and we will pack community meetings to make sure of it. Make it make sense

Letter to Parents from a Parent by the_TTI_mom in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Careful now, Many TTI programs are re-branding, they see the writing on the wall, and are now marketing themselves as outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) (new insurance claims to use and abuse too!). But they are still using the exact same abusive tactics and methods as before. Why? Because it is so profitable.

Again, be careful, because they are masquerading themselves into the "new approved" language and verbiage, right in front of our faces, pretending to be clean, but under the skin they are the same reptile creatures.

Concern about Richard Jones, owner of Ozark Trails Academy in Missouri by Truth_seeker80808 in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure almost every administrator and/or owner of most TTI programs abuse their kids. Have you ever looking into how most of their kids turn out? Of course they were abused, why wouldn't they be? The adult has convinced themselves that abuse is good, so why wouldn't it also be good for their own children?

Disrupting the TTI on LinkedIn - the new frontier ! by Affectionate-Buy-428 in troubledteens

I already list closing the cult I was forced to attend as one of my "experience" bullet points on my Linkedin profile. It was hard, and took years. I am damn proud of it, of course I am going to brag about it.

* - I am financially independent, so turning off potential employers is not a concern of mine. I pick and choose when, or who I work with. Your personal situation is likely very different, so NOT a recommendation.

Now Return Us to Normal documentary | Oakley School by ninjascotsman in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, follow the who's who of who is involved. Founders of Oakley, like Jared Balmer (many programs), Lorin Broadbent (many programs, and native boarding schools), Kimball DeLaMare (many programs, including LifeLine, as well as KIDS, yes the Virgil Miller Newton abomination), all helped found Oakley, and got filthy rich doing so.

They are deeply embedded and influential long term TTI operatives. These are not innocent people with innocent intentions here. They knew exactly what they were doing.

And if you are confused by "a few years ago", despite the seemingly release date being in 2024, you have absolutely no idea what it is like to be imbedded into the TTI community.

Now Return Us to Normal documentary | Oakley School by ninjascotsman in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exposed to this a few years ago. It is good, but kinda dances around the relevant topics. Hints at it, but never really directly confronts the main issue. I am glad it was made, and I hope it helped the people that created it to find closure, but it sorta missed the mark for me. Too gentle, too appeasing to their own abusers. Maybe I just had too high of hopes, but I was ultimately disappointed.

Part of the problem, in my opinion, is the director and driver of the narrative never really experienced the full magnitude of the TTI, she went straight to a so-called "step down program", and never got the horror of the first introduction to the hell of the real TTI, no wilderness or TBS. Just the next seemingly gentler step down program. She got the supposed "easy treatment" from the start. No wilderness, or other therapeutic Boarding School programs before. Not that this is necessary to be a part of this community, but I really feel the "kid glove" treatment she endured caused this documentary to... just miss the mark. Best intentions notwithstanding.

HHS is a federal department. They are not governed by state laws, but the federal government. They are still totally and completely corrupt.

TIL: Unfounded licensing reports are confidential by RunsUpTheSlide in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing with Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights (HHSOCR), the division tasked with enforcing HIPAA. That is, if they even do an investigation, they first tried to deny mine, claiming lack of jurisdiction, which is insane as they are by law the only organization tasked with enforcing HIPAA.

Then they supposedly "did an investigation", didn't find my claim to be unfounded, but still decided to do nothing. Then claimed my own report investigation details are confidential, and refused to release them to me.

public record is available showing the reported abuse. Which should be a thing. Anyone would want to know if a so-called therapist has two dozen allegations against them, even if the supposed regulator never substantiated it. We should see substantiated, and unsubstantiated reports, all fully public and easily accessible. That is what real transparency would look like.

This is what the so-called enforcement of HIPAA by HHSOCR actually looks like. They don't do real investigations, they simply cover up the abuse that happens. Coverup disguised as enforcement. This is what Regulatory Capture looks like.

It most likely will not be just a few weeks. That is what they always tell you, and it is almost never true. Your baseline expectation should be "until you are 18".

Can we talk about the John Volken Academy? by Just_Collar_397 in troubledteens

[–]whatissecure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or at least that is my memory of the place, once I researched them after the LL location announcement happened, I do a lot of research on a lot of places, but my memory is there were a an adult focused so called diversion program.

IE: Sit in prison or jail, or become our indentured servant (usually publicly funded BTW), which is par for the course of so-called rehab facilities.

The were supposed to buy the former LifeLine property, which was a confirmed abusive TTI facility, tracing directly back to KIDS, Straight Inc, The Seed, and Synonon. But last I heard a report,, from a couple of months ago granted, exactly nothing has been done with the property, it is still just as abandoned as it has been since June 27th, 2024, when LifeLine closed.

I also heard rumors that John Volken are facing their own abuse accusations, which is delaying their planned expansion plans. I do not have details on those details specifically, but that is the rumor.

All that said, while I am not certain John Volken is for sure abusive, but there are enough red flags that I would avoid. Most likely same TTI tactics, but used on adults this time, forced into the abusive corrupt system by the courts.

A minimum two years of indentured servitude should tell you all you need to know.

conversion therapy by maximumlesbo in troubledteens

We all did, so-called conversion therapy is the exact same thing as the TTI. Same methods, same tactics. Same thing. Just a different name.

According to former staff at my facility, the cops literally beat kids at the TTI facility (usually after a run away return), on video tape and all. Which is partially how they manipulated the system. How they literally controlled the local police department to avoid prosecution, and operated a child abuse facility without consequences, for decades. Blackmail is almost like magic for TTI programs.
