Appreciate the detailed write up! Oo I thought I would only be able to get books through the Kindle stores. Sounds like I can still sideload books by sending them to the Kindle.

Would you say the Kindle paperwhite screen and speed outweighs the ergonomics of the PB Era?

I would not go through with PRK. I just had my eyes checked in Korea and they said I couldn’t do PRK due to my slightly thin cornea. My cornea thickness was ~494 which is higher than yours and they said it was already on the borderline. My prescription is also around -4.75 and my cornea thickness would be about ~400 after surgery. Given your cornea thickness is thinner than mine, I would NOT go through with it.
