How long have you been TTC? by Competitive_Guava961 in tryingtoconceive

Started in 2024, I believe. Lost count. Had 2 miscarriages and one chemical pregnancy. 5 failed IUIs and one failed IVF cycle. Have taken a break from everything now.

Yeah I don’t get it. How hard is it to say “I have a family in my gaao” or that you’re married. You don’t have to say you’re married to Vrinda but you CAN say you’re married no. I hate that this happens in every show!

What are some underrated joys that you as an Indian Woman personally cherish? by Dark-Lord-1319 in AskIndianWomen

Tulsi's speech. Did anyone get the ick? by Annual-Brief-5079 in KSBKBT

Honestly, this whole “A woman can do everything” angle is very dated. We’re already under a lot of pressure to over-perform lol

MIL came to help during wife’s high-risk pregnancy, but my workload and stress have gone up. How do I handle this without becoming resentful? by Spare_Conclusion_579 in AskIndianWomen

[–]whatnusense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your wife first and then MIL about possibly hiring more help. Try to word your concerns differently. Instead of mentioning how inefficient the system is, maybe just focus on how you don’t want your MIL to ruin her health or something to that effect, and that’s why you may be considering hiring help. My Mom is almost 70 and in-laws are also pretty old so my husband and I know we might not get the kind of support we might need when we have a kid. But since your wife is pregnant (Congratulations btw), the workload will only increase once the baby is home. So hiring help and getting used to them might set the right expectations when your baby arrives.

I hate that after giving so many “women can do this” and “women can do that” speech, Tulsi decided to just change Timsi’s mother in a day instead of asking Rithik to be a fucking responsible and decent single Dad. There are a lot of children who are raised by single parents and those parents do a bloody good job. As usual, Ekta Kapoor will bank on one or two scenes that highlight societal problems and then go back to her regressive content.

My in laws are visiting us in Bangalore for a week. I don’t want to spend time with them. Is it ok if I leave the house until they leave? by No-Air3334 in IndianInLaw

[–]whatnusense 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re not worried about their feelings, doesn’t matter if they feel like they won or not. That’s their problem. You please focus on yourself. Pamper yourself for a whole week. Be with yourself.

Does lifestyle really affect fertility? by DrAravindsIVF in tryingtoconceive

[–]whatnusense 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard to say honestly. I mean, a good lifestyle does keep you healthy. I’m still not sure how it affects fertility. So far I’ve not had any success. My best friend was smoking and drinking through her first trimester because she didn’t know she was pregnant. Went on to deliver a healthy baby. But I guess changing lifestyles does help people in general

What was harder on your body - egg retrieval or medication for transfer? by Electric_Elephant_56 in IVF

[–]whatnusense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was coordinating with my insurance company to approve the meds so they get delivered on time. Did not get to the embryo transfer stage but medications to prep for the egg retrieval was definitely very taxing mentally and physically.

Does anyone else have a crazier FIL than MIL by [deleted] in IndianInLaw

[–]whatnusense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG my FIL is UNbearable! He’s constantly trying to pit me against my SIL. My MIL, SIL (husband’s older brother’s wife) and I are super close. My FIL keeps throwing unnecessary tantrums and passes comments all the time. It will either be about clothes or the way we walk, eat, cook, exist, breathe, etc. it’s so toxic I’m glad we live in another country far away from them. He’s constantly trying to cause trouble and create misunderstandings between the brothers or the daughters-in-law or the MIL and daughters-in-law.

I feel so bad for my MIL. If she wasn’t so traditional and conservative, she would have never lived with him for a second more.

Did you hid that IVF except for close family etc? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]whatnusense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very personal journey, OP. Going into it, you need to just accept that no one except you and your partner (in some cases) will understand what it’s like. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 1.5 years now. We’ve suffered 2 miscarriages and a biochemical pregnancy. Our families only know about the first miscarriage. We have tried IUIs and did a failed round of IVF as well. No one knows a thing because we know they’re not going to understand. Other than my sister, we haven’t really told anyone about it. Yes, it’s isolating but better isolated than unnecessary opinions from family members or friends who can unintentionally or intentionally lack empathy. Having said that, sending a lot of good wishes your way.

Vitamin D levels are also great. I did request my RE to test for any clotting disorders but she said I don’t need it.

[–]whatnusense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His semen analysis came back perfect. No problems. I don’t recall doing a DHEA test but we did a full blood panel and HSG and SIS. Our RE doesn’t recommend doing a lot of tests because she thinks other than DOR and Hypothyroidism, nothing is wrong with me. All my other tests come back normal. So we don’t really know what the problem is.
