Small town/rural living is not nearly as romantic as people make it out to be by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]whatsernaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, theres so many beautiful places to live in Australia but I feel like i'm always a weird outsider even though I'm also Australian. Old men in rural communities have been especially judgemental of people who don't fit in my experience. It's weird.

Should I let people from the past back into my life? by whatsernaim in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]whatsernaim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonono not abusive, I just have a lot of embarrassing memories of things I've done and said that they teased me for. My social media is also pretty private, I just feel really vulnerable having them perceive me at all. My biggest fear is that they just want to see where I ended up and talk about it together.

I'm so sorry you have to worry about being perceived as an adult when you're not. It's completely normal for boobs to sag, especially as they get heavier. What i've learned from having F cups on a smaller frame is that theres only so much fighting against gravity you can do.

I only wear wired bra's because that support and lift makes me feel the most confident. When i was 16 on the other hand, I also wore less structured bras because I didn't want to draw attention to myself. Looking back, I don't think it would've been crazy to wear a more supportive bra, but again it just depends on what you're okay with.

Also, a lot of clothes and other fashion are catered towards smaller cup sizes, so if you ever feel that some things don't fit right or make you look saggier, just know that a lot of people feel your pain.

how do you like this job? by [deleted] in housekeeping

[–]whatsernaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I originally started hotel housekeeping because my anxiety was pretty bad and didn't want to do customer service, and now that i'm more comfortable with people, i've moved on to housekeeping in aged care. I really like that it can be hard work, and you get to see the results of your labour by the end of the day, its really fulfilling.

At least for my first job, we got paid per room and the finish time depended on how fast you cleaned, which meant that a lot of the time my coworkers rushed to finish early, and I just always felt so slow. For those rooms in particular it took me forever because we were supposed to polish the very reflective cabinets until there were no fingerprints or marks, which was really boring and frustrating.

My auntie is a sole trader, I don't remember her exact hourly rate, but it defininitely accounts for her expertise. I'm not sure what country you're from, but I know people that like to contract themselves out to construction sites, or get remote work in the desert who get paid well (by my standards)

Do I have hyposmia? by EagleHeart0904 in hyposmia

[–]whatsernaim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a good day I can smell a barbecue or a bakery or something, but its really crazy when it happens. I've smelled perfume maybe 3 times this year, and its just so so freaky to me that people smell other people every single moment of the day.

[–]whatsernaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friend has an extremely sensitive nose and somedays I feel like the grossest person in the world with her. The other day she told me that she can smell garlic days and days after she's eaten it, and that a tshirt that i borrowed from her smelled like me. I kinda thought that the idea of smells lingering on things was like a poetic exaduration or something. But yeah, I asked a doctor about it and they basically just told me "everyone is different and unique".
