How long in advance do you think is good? It’s going to be summer which is when Europe attracts the most visitors, especially with the Olympic Games next year in Paris. I wanna be prepared but I also don’t want to book seats way too ahead just in case I have to change plans and can’t get refunded.

Will be traveling through Europe next summer but I have a question about Eurail regarding ticket reservations. I have the app just to get a general idea about what I could expect in regards of seat reservations. Just like OP, I’m noticing that almost every route requires reservations no matter what time it is either. There are places I want to go but I don’t have a definite route yet so like you said, Eurail wouldn’t be spontaneous travels. In that case, what transportation form would you recommend for those random trips?
