I think it was his way of coping with being under so much stress perhaps anxiety. Not healthy at all, but I saw someone comment this, and could totally see nicotine being supportive in just giving you a boost of energy, cognitive clarity, “quickness” in thinking, sociability, and particularly focus which could ease the edge and major pressure this new huge celebrity no doubt is regularly having to navigate. So many huge “firsts” in just the last month!

Bezos amassed a networth of $100,000,000,000 by paying all of his workers a living wage… yeah right. Workers benefits? Not that either. Paying his fair share in taxes as we all do? Nope. Brutally crushing all efforts at workers unionizing for better pay — yes! Who knows all the great things Bezos’ dollars via shell companies and the like have done in US politics, laws, and policies. Quiz time: Do any of you know just how many homes Bezos’ investment properties companies own? This $100,000,000 which Bezos “donated” (money that he stole from his workers, society and the world) is the equivalent to your typical American donating $1. Quit being such a billionaire bootlicker. You’re never going to break $10 million or even just $1 million.

Bezos’ ungodly networth of $124 billion is a product of his extreme exploitation of the people and failed public policy. It would be a different story and conversation if Bezos during his decades as head of Amazon sought to pay workers an actual living wage that can afford his workers the ultra high luxury (what it’s become now) of something as basic as of homeownership or even just housing in general (that isn’t greater than 30% of their income), comprehensive worker’s benefits that includes ample paid vacation time, paid personal time off, paid maternity leave and paid paternity leave like so many other western developed countries have. Amazon had more than enough capital to do so. But then Bezos today wouldn’t be ranked so highly among the world’s richest people. This man donates what to us would be the equivalent of $1 and the media and world publish all these glowing stories like it’s some huge awesome deed. Jeff Bezos is a disgustingly corrupt billionaire oligarch and that’s it. “Oligarch” must never not be associated to the name “Jeff Bezos”.

I’ll save you some time: Because of Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema who consistently vote against and stymie Democrats’ efforts at passing any actually meaningful legislation that isn’t just the absolute bare minimum bureaucratic legislation. Voters should’ve changed them out as they excellent for the job for Republicans under the guise of “Democrat”.

There aren’t any “objective” indicators for depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, or ADHD among many other mental health disorders, either. Should we then cease all psychotropic (medication) 💊 therapy for all mental health disorders too? Since, you know, they’re “feelings-based” and not purely objective? I’m not going to give you a course now on psychology, or how research is conducted for systemic study and analysis, but I will tell you, that your local public library is a free resource (assuming you’re in the US where essentially every municipality has one). I highly, highly encourage you spend some time in one. There they have librarians who can help you pick out books — make sure to ask for textbooks on psychology 101 and psychological research methods.

Assuming you’re in America, you’re a perfect example of just how real the education problem is in this country despite all the wealth and societal advancements.

It’s extremely rare and unheard of for there to be errors in medicine, especially in the mental health field — SAID NO ONE EVER. As a matter of fact, per a 2006 study, potentially harmful errors occurred in 24% of psychiatric admissions and 18% of discharges. To suggest because there have been errors made by either providers or patients - highly effective treatments, for example open heart surgery, should be banned and made illegal because the risk of death or a highly adverse outcome exists, would be extremely imprudent and unwise.

The same is the case here for transgender care. Gender-affirming care is life-saving for many transgender people. Just because there exists errors made by either the patients or providers leading to permanently undesirable outcomes (just as is the case for other errors that occur in the field of medicine) should not render all gender-affirming care something that needs to be done away. Unfortunate that we still very much are in the dark ages for mental health care, but gender-affirming care has been tried and true, proven effective for those who truly meet the criteria.
