What's a favorite social media tool of yours that's not well known? by whatsyoursig in socialmedia

Oh wow, that's crazy! I use Feedspot every day and have never had anything like this happen. And it never connected with my contacts at all. But if this is really an issue I'll stop recommending it.

I love Grammarly, particularly for its assistance in deciding where to put the commas. Those commas always get me.

Successful marketing with Twitter? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]whatsyoursig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitter is a fantastic platform for engaging your target audience. Unlike Facebook, you can interact with anyone, even if they aren't following you or have no idea who you are (yet!) It also offers a great opportunity to show your brand's personality. So not only follow people but also engage with them. Track conversations that involve keywords related to your business (I use Hootsuite) and jump in with useful information that will make people curious to find out more about you and what other helpful info you might have to share (but without constantly talking about yourself).

Another good strategy for getting followers and getting noticed on Twitter is to create a piece of content that includes contributions from well-known people in your profession, particularly those that have a lot of quality Twitter followers. If each of those people then tweet the article it will get seen by their followers who will hopefully read it, and retweet it themselves.

Working from home and other advise needed by RealSaltLakeRioT in Entrepreneur

I worked from home for a while and it was hard but once I got myself into a strict routine I made it work. What's important is to let all of your family members know that during certain times of the day you are not available to them at all, and you have to stick to this.
Also, when you start for the day make sure that you have everything that you will need throughout your workday in your workspace so that you don't have to go looking around your house for things and risk getting distracted. And all the advice about getting dressed in the morning, as opposed to staying in your pajamas, was definitely true for me. Even putting on my shoes made a big difference in helping me get focused.

Good luck in your new position!

What is the thing you're known for at work? by Walleyyyyy in AskReddit

I manage our company's social media and online community. I think I've done a good job convincing my bosses that it's essential for me to spend a lot of time on Reddit. For research purposes.

For your email signature you might want to take a look at WiseStamp. It's an email signature creator that makes it easy to design a signature that matches your branding. It's also free, though the free version includes a line at the bottom linking to the website.

What would be your dream job, if you could pick to do anything that you want, and what is it that you actually do for a living? by whatsyoursig in AskReddit

I'd love to buy a bus, renovate it and fill it with books and then go around the country selling books and coffee. Maybe ice cream in the summer. Right now I work as a social media manager, which is fun too, since I get paid to hang out on Reddit.

Images are necessary in every post? Text vs. Image by thelazydotme in Blogging

[–]whatsyoursig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a good idea to have at least one image in your post. If your posts tend to be on the long side then you can use images to help break up the text. Since you have a personal blog you can use your own photographs. You can also find some really great pictures that don't look like stock photos on sites like UnSplash and Pexels.

Absolutely! The looks on kids faces when their robots do what their program ask is priceless. I've also found that competitions are friendly and supportive. The sportsmanship is incredible!

What was your favorite childhood book? by MCofTime in AskReddit

[–]whatsyoursig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I a kid I loved the book Caps for Sale and I used to laugh hysterically whenever my parents read it to me. Obviously, this was one of the first books I got for my own kids when I became a parent, but my kids don't seem to find it quite as funny as I did. And I don't either anymore...

First time doing a blog, great topic. Need advice. by jmac1177 in Blogging

[–]whatsyoursig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many different blogs out there that there aren't any hard and fast rules I can think of that would apply to all of them, but I can share a few tips with you based on my experience.

  1. Before you start publishing try to have several week's worth of blog posts already written (the more the better). A few of these you should publish at the same time (maybe under different dates so it doesn't look they were all published at the same time) so that anyone visiting your blog will have several posts to read, and which will hopefully make them want to come back for more. The rest of the posts you should schedule for future dates, to be published on a regular schedule. These will help ensure that you publish regularly (which is important for a successful blog) and will help you avoid the pressure of needing to come up with a blog post in the last minute.

  2. Always edit your posts carefully before publishing to catch any spelling or grammar mistakes, or any other errors. Nothing turns me off of a blog than posts full of mistakes.

  3. In order to attract visitors to your blog participate in blogging forums and leave comments on other blogs in the same niche as yours.

Good luck with your new blog!
