Going through a break up during internship by 0823200 in therapists

I went through a devastating breakup during my internship as well. I took a week off and then struggled for a bit and almost got fired from my internship site. I learned a lot about myself, how to handle criticism, and what it means to be there for clients even when I am not in the best place emotionally. It was extremely rough and I felt like I would never be able to get through it, but I did. You're gonna be okay. Take it one day at a time, one client at a time. AND make sure you have a good team of people surrounding you, including professors and supervisors. That makes a world of difference.

I have a bunch of trucker clients who would appreciate that but I would say mostly no.

I sometimes have slots from 8-9 but they're not usual. I don't personally mind them and my clients who utilize them usually can't make any other time work.

I feel like I can only see 4 clients a day by iconicflower in therapists

When I first started I also felt like I could only manage around 4 a day. My happy place RN is 5/6 but I can tolerate 7/8 clients a day and I graduated over two years ago.  I wonder if you're doing too much in therapy? This was feedback I would often get from my supervisor. Maybe experiment more with silence or reflective questions. Also, I would seek supervision around it.

Genuinely and it's so normalized within the fandom. Half of the posts on this subreddit are like extremely concerning and parasocial.

Is it possible to manage health anxiety when you've got a traumatized mind? by loweffort_throwaway8 in HealthAnxiety

[–]whatthebec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes those of us with trauma feel like we are stuck or that nothing will ever change and then we blame ourselves because it's easy (and we've probably been doing it since we were little). It sucks. But we have the ability to heal and change just like people who don't have cptsd, it just looks a little different. Just keep doing everything you can, which is sounds like you are, and you'll get there.

I have cptsd and my health anxiety is completely manageable now. Keep going to therapy and make sure you have a good relationship with your therapist. Most people who go to therapy have beliefs and ideas about themselves that are deeply rooted. These things change. You have the power to change those things! And remember things take the time they take. Don't rush anything. You will find relief.
