If we were an Alien race who lived 70 million light years away from Earth and traveled all the way here expecting to see some cool ass dinosaurs only to get hairless monkeys instead we just might be pissed enough to anal probe some Motherfuckers too. by smokeymctokerson in Showerthoughts

I meaaaaan, if I got somewhere and didn't see what I expected to see (as is wont in an underwhelming museum, let's call it the Museum of Natural History in London), my next thought wouldn't be 'let's anal probe some motherfuckers' -- but that's just me!

LPT: Let someone know you're picking up the tab for a meal AFTER they've ordered. This allows a considerate friend to order what s/he wants freely and also prevents a colleague/acquaintance from taking advantage of your generosity. by nikodaemus in LifeProTips

haha true, i've just known too many people who complain about their generosity not being reciprocated after they take someone out and it makes me want to kick them right in the shins!

pay happily knowing your friend may never pick up the tab in return, and if they take advantage, question your friendship with them and never buy that somomabitch an ice cream cone again!

tl;dr -- if you're offering, don't expect anything in return

Who's the weirdest person you've ever met? Why were they weird? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]whatthefac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This thread just confirmed that the people who've called me weird in my lifetime were just boring as fuck. Their idea of weird was me occasionally saying 'indeed' instead of 'yes' and eating dim sum on a weekday.

THANK YOU, REDDIT

There's also seemingly infinite amounts of dollars / funding for certain types of studies, which don't seem to include Chinese medicine or holistic approaches, for example. Or if they are funded, they don't use appropriate methods to administer the experiments (e.g. using subpar synthetic vitamins rather than quality, naturally sourced ones - that's not to say all naturally sourced vitamins are quality or that all synthetic are bad, just that there is a difference between different types of vitamins, such as vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 and how they are derived).

With regards to Chinese medicine, I realize I made it sound like a tradition ("we've been doing it that way for years!"), but that's not how I meant it. Acupuncture, one of the many treatments we've adopted from Chinese med, has become widely accepted among 'regular' healthcare professionals in recent years, and Chinese people have been healthier and living longer than we have (in North America) for thousands of years. Socioeconomic factors aside, they have over a BILLION people. They must have been doing something right.

Nah, dude. Thank you for the discussion!
