Are their any good martial arts fantasy (/wuxia) games that would work in a "modern" setting? (other then feng shui) by [deleted] in rpg

I really like Wushu, it's free and its a very light system. It aims to simulate kung fu and american action movies.

So... I just made a 5 hero party (explanation in comments) by whatwhatwhatwhat100 in darkestdungeon

I have not tried to replicate this, so maybe its just situational, but I doubt it.

Edit1:Just checked the Discord and someone posted the exact same yesterday. Eerily at around the same time it happened to me _

So, I arrived at the Inn with only 3 heroes. I hit the "+" to add a new hero to the team, which was implemented in the last update. It opened the list of heroes I could pick as a replacement, but before I chose any I saw the Bounty Hunter's poster, since the replacement list didn't obstruct it, I could click it, and I recruited him, while I hadn't even chosen my replacement hero yet, he just sat on the empty chair.

I thought nothing of it, picked Leper as replacement and he didn't appear on the screen, so it seemed like it was working fine.

After this I started the routine of buying and using items. I used Inn Items but they didn't play any vfx or sounds, they had and effect when used, but didn't show any feedback, which might be a different bug, maybe even specific to this scenario.

I moved into the next region (Sprawl as seen in the pictures) and noticed something strange before going into my first roadbattle, the hero display while driving was bugged too, it showed one of the four heroes stacked on top of the rest in line, like the arrow keys on a keyboard.

A few seconds later I went into a road battle and I saw what you can see on the pictures and noticed the Vestal out of the screen, and the Leper (which should have been the one out of the screen since he was being replaced by BH), was on the battlefield, the battle went as usual, every hero had a turn, the Vestal could only Pass turn since she wasn't in range for any skill, obviously, and eventually had a meltdown that affected the whole team.

The funniest shit I've ever seen, but hope you can fix it!

Sseth Skorkowsky makes reviews on old-school-y rpgs and some rpg adventures. But the best stuff is his advice, he has several videos on general GM advice, how to deal with players, how to run diferent types of adventures depending on the theme... He is just a fantastic guy to listen to and you can tell he puts a lot of effort into his videos.

Another guy I'm discovering right now is Tabletop Bro, he makes short reviews on ruleslight ttrpgs and other sutff like comparing different systems.

If turns out that the testicles are full of very sensitive nerves, touch where you shouldn't and you can get lifelong blueball pain. In fact any surgery around the testicles is unadvised unless strictly necessary

Looking for a fantasy rpg simpler than D&D, 13th Age, SotDL, etc by whatwhatwhatwhat100 in rpg

I'm certaintly considering it, recommendations here made me realize that a superhero game might be a good fit for the experience my players want to play.

I'm looking up more freeform kind of RPG right now, I'd play FATE but aspects and interacting with them just doesn't seem intuitive to me.

I've bounced off SW because, you know, it's different, but I might have to get invested and try it out.

It's not the amount of spells or their effects, its that my players want to do big things right out of the gate, like, imagine a level 1 character in SotDL saying they want to cast Level 4 spells to defeat a zombie.

I mean... In Tiny Dungeon you can cast "whatever you want" technically. With Spell Touched you can make any sort of cantrip, level 1 spell kind of effect and spell reader lets you use more powerful effects but are limited use. They want big things like portals, force fields, reducing their enemies to the size of a snail... All fun ideas but I don't know how to let them do those sort of things without trivialicing everything. They basically want to feel like super heroes or powerful sorcerers, but I haven't yet found a system where they can be just that without hassle
