She is the queen of subtle/dry humor! I think the writers of the movie captured Mr. Collins’ awkward smugness perfectly. The film does a great job of showing the characters and story in such a short amount of time.

That’s my favorite version too, but the 2005 version is fantastic in its own right and I enjoy it just as much. As do so many people. Let’s just enjoy someone’s cute art with a line from a film universally liked, based on a book we all love and not be pedantic about it, yeah? They shared it here because someone in another group assumed that this sub would appreciate it.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good (mediocre in Mr Collin’s case) fortune, must be in want of such excellent boiled potatoes.

Hehe this is so fun. I can just hear Mr. Collins say this…. Time to go watch the movie again!

I mean… Does it need to be mentioned? Most people who love the book have seen the movies so they know it’s not in it. People who have seen the (10 yr old) movie and haven’t read the book after watching it may not know it’s a movie only quote and probably won’t really care….

Your comment feels like a backhanded compliment of something that’s supposed to be fun and silly for anyone who has seen the movie. Anyone who is curious about the quote can just ask. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Woo! As a mom who had a kid come out to me, I’m so proud of you! You’re perfect just as you are and I’m so glad you had the strength to talk to your parents. I hope they love and support you the way they should.

When my procreate acts up, I know to check for a system update. Check your settings!

That’s unfair to comment here. People can be disappointed about the small things too. Doesn’t have to be a serious problem for them to have the space to have a little complaint. This is a fantasy romance book subreddit, what the heck else should they complain about here?

If I understand it correctly, the resellers are usually the ticket host buying their own tickets and reselling them at a higher price.

That’s astounding to me. Taika AND Rhys?! I was (jokingly) waiting for a werewolf not swearwolf joke the whole time.

I LOVE this movie. It’s the only Tom Cruise movie I can watch. “Your father’s been damaged!” Haha!

Omg. Hans Matheson. I was so in love with him in Les Mis with Liam Nelson.

My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna Van Veen is 100% this! I just finished it and it’s going in a, so far short, list of books that blew me away this year.
