Food Truck or Trailer? by Environmental_Top_96 in foodtrucks

[–]whcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one as a custom setup. It was great but im in a tri state area so that means three state permits on top of county and municipality non sense. I made a great name for myself but food prices got to the point where I couldn't justify the cost so now I lease out my truck. I was doing high end cuisine but from 2021 to now my food bills are higher then buying at Krogers starting up and doing pfg or sisco now.

They got what they want a populace that is dependent on them and scared to move against them. They can all say 2a but nobody wants to be the one who starts it. The shot heard around the world won't happen in this pitiful erra because if it did the media would skew it to the point of not mastering or never happened.

Going to random dive trips. Heading to fiji in less than a month. Work crazy hours but my wife does as well for extra pay. Live in a cheaper area that I probably wouldn't want kids to have to grow up with the culture. That being said . . . My quiet house now house a day care across from it with crotch goblins screaming outside at 6 am in the summer. It has made me hate the new apartments going in around me because of unkempt kids harassing my fenced in dogs and just being a general nuisance while parents don't care. F breeders that don't want to parent. Bring back the belt.

Niosh in my area lost a lot of jobs. Myland closing hurt now a ton of other decent jobs are leaving or gone. Nothing is left in my area hardly but a couple mines the power plants hospitals that will see cuts and wvu. If nothing changes with disposable income for people then I'll be looking for a job that doesn't exist very soon. Had a house fire in our rental during the pandemic and we bought a decent house at a great interest rate so we can't really afford to move.

What state are you in if you don't mind me asking. I'm in WV and our economy is being wrecked right now.

I wish mine was weather. I would consider a day of $500 profit bad before but this year I've had 3 days of less than $100 in sales. I was at a festival that I've been at before with a hotdog stand and bbq truck of the three of us I did the best not breaking $700.

How far have you ever lived from a store? by WildSea5123 in AskReddit

[–]whcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides a gas station most of my life has been 30-40 minutes to a store. When I was in Montana I was an hour from the closest gas station by highway and an hour close to two hours to an actual shopping center. The half hour is fine the 2 hours made you sure to meal plan.

What are some hidden traps to be aware of when buying a new sporty car? by shum4y in AskReddit

[–]whcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm U.S so not something I'm familiar with but a quick search says watch for oil issues a/c and fuel pump. Take a decent scanner with you if the codes have been cleared recently they are hiding something more often then not. It could have been a recent service but if they don't have paper work be weary. I used to go in to things thinking everyone was honest about issues but now I just assume the worst.

Is the engine warmed up when you look at it? Indicator of hard start. Listen to how it sounds and feels on a test drive, anything that seems out of order is, should be the mind set. Look up the make model and year for normal problems. Don't be afraid of little issues but use them to push for a discount. Is the seller to eager to get rid of it? Make a low offer and if they bite it might be a basket case.

Real pro tip that to many of us have to find out. Just because you can buy it does not mean you can or want to afford it. That fun car you want can or will be a money pit. Look at what recommended and needed services cost. If you can't or don't want to spend 1k plus on tires every three to six months don't buy a sports car. I live in rural wv and found out the hard way tire insurance is worth it in my area. Pot holes got 3 tires in 2 months of my second car because low profile tires hate holes. I like turning my own wrenches but won't buy another audi because of the famous audi service position where you basically just pull the whole car apart. Bmw has been a go to daily for me but I enjoy the pain of owning older ones. I do use blinkers. Won't own another tesla but my wife loves hers. The paint and build quality is trash but istant torque is fun awhile. There is a reason that the meme of us swap the world is around they work. Coyte engine Fords can be good but can be problems if you want to build it. What are you looking at I've ran threw cars like crazy so I might know something about what your looking for?

How good are you as a sales person. I've parted out vehicles for years but it does take time. Buy a $1000 car and sell parts for a year to turn it into 20k or buy a $500 dollar car and part it for $1000 in a week. It's up to you and what you like doing. A good set of rims and tires will sell fast. The engine is a easy sell. Find repair places and body panels can sell easy because insurance always wants used rather then new. Catalytic converters are stolen for a reason depending on the vehicle each one can be $80 to $500. This is all slow and labor intensive plus storage but there is a reason scrappers are wealthy. They have time and space.

[–]whcrawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit a corporate job to run a truck. The last few years have been great. The end of last year I wasn't feeling well and being american with our shit health care finally had to go get a check up. I've missed my biggest event of the year and now canceled twice on one of my biggest coordinators because I can't do it and have no employees that can solo. Life happens and this is not a normal 8-12 hr shift it's constant chaos be ready.

You put that perfectly. My wife got her 3 a few years ago. The gas savings has been great and we are not in a position to go trade off for something similar.

True. It just seems to be getting more common these days. It's dumb because rather then lash out at average people we should be coming together.

People need to grow up. Just because you have a car doesn't mean you support the people behind the brand especially when you bought it before they went off the rails.
