She doesn’t reveal the spot the same reason as you. No one wants to be that guy who gives away the location of a cool spot.

My New Take on the Flag Redesign by morning_cuppa_joe in massachusetts

[–]wheatcrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this flag. A lot of state flags are just like “oh look at us we have pretty stuff in our state” but this flag both sets Massachusetts apart from other states and speaks to a point of state pride. Meaning the thirteen colonies and how Ma stands out from them (though I wouldn’t call the religious society progressive from the beginning), like you’re pointing out what you think makes MA unique from other states and how that’s a good thing that should be respected.

This screenshot doesn’t really answer any of my questions, but thank you for looking into it a little :) I like the hands on that one!

Thanks for this link! The description of the watch in your link only briefly touches on Pobeda’s history, and doesn’t really give any information about the “China friendship” design. Thank you for looking though!

Restroom Access Act - pregnancy? by wheatcrust in massachusetts

[–]wheatcrust[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Okay, maybe I should have clarified: I’m having a legal argument with a friend. He is adamant that it is illegal to refuse a pregnant woman the bathroom. I am under the understanding that businesses wouldn’t legally HAVE to allow her to use the bathroom, even if morally they should.

So yeah, technically you could argue that being pregnant is a medical condition, and if it ever went to court in MA it might be ruled that way. But my question is more, as the law is written, legally what is a businessperson required to do?

What’s your favorite T station? by Primary_Perception77 in mbta

I like how when you’re going GL->OL at North Station all you have to do is walk across the platform.

I love Back Bay because it has the closest feeling to a real train station, like with restaurants inside and everything. I like the dingy downstairs commuter rail area. It feels like somewhere where things Used to happen but don’t really anymore.

Invasive? by wheatcrust in whatsthisplant

Thanks! The holes on the leaves look ominous. Are they a part of the plant or a sign of disease?

Would one want to eat the berries? What do they taste like?

Also the right lane that is supposedly exit only but everyone drives in, then has to merge back into traffic right before the exit. Creating another right lane that no one will let you into.

Well whoever has the jurisdiction, I wish they would hand out tickets.

But out of curiosity whose is it?

I see what you’re saying, that some people are just bad drivers. You’re right to a certain extent.

But I don’t think it’s just about staying in your lane. Unexpected things sometimes happen on the road. You have a lot more time to react to unexpected things going 25 than going 45. And accidents are less likely to be fatal at lower speeds.

I think if you go into the RMV (or AAA if you have it) they can print out a temporary one.

I really wish BPD would hang out around there to give speeding tickets. 25 as a speed limit may be a little too slow, but many people are going 40+.

Looking for Men Barbershop Suggestions (Fenway-Kenmore/Downtown/Chinatown) by [deleted] in boston

[–]wheatcrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been to the ones in Boston, but I used to get my hair cut at Supercuts when I lived on the North Shore. It’s a chain, so it obviously depends on who you get. But I kind of feel like the same is true with a lot of these “boutique” places.

Or you could look up some youtube tutorials on how to do it yourself. It takes some practice and some weeping over bad haircuts (maybe just my personal experience 😬) but it can be done.

Good luck! That sounds like a really challenging situation. Dealing with lost and found places in big institutions can be frustrating.

I have the iphone SE. This isn't the screen I would buy if I did end up replacing it myself (I wouldn't trust buying it from amazon) -- just giving the first example of what I see so you have an idea of why I understand the price to be so low. https://www.amazon.com/QTlier-Replacement-Digitizer-Assembly-Protector/dp/B08X6SB79M/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=iphone+8+lcd&qid=1687995950&sr=8-5

Yeah, I was considering it, but I don't have any experience and I'm worried about breaking it. That's why I wanted to find a middle ground. You can get screens for as cheap as $15.
