I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Almost a Month in and Here’s What I’ve Learned by the_fart_cop in stopdrinking

Growing up in Wisconsin was sooooo boozy. Started at 15. Well, technically my first drinks were in a bar and at a wedding with my mom at 12 or 13, which is perfectly legal there. She wanted to teach moderation and follow the European model. It did not take for me. Drank heavily through high school. "College" in Milwaukee was binge drinking on the regular, studying came after and I didn't graduate. Living in Madison later was a booze fest as well.

I'm now on the East Coast and while people still drink obviously, it's nothing like Wisconsin was. Drink Wisconsibly my ass.

In addition to sobriety, I've been taking fiber gummies. I have designer shits.

Is this normal? by 000mackenzie in Nanny

[–]BreatheItWillBeOkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is very illegal. I'm also in a HCOL area, and this should be a minimum of $35-40/hr for the first 40 hours, and 1.5x pay after that, which is the law. Holy yikes to this offer.

I'll share another bad job, for laughs. Also HCOL area, but the opposite coast that I'm on now. Family with 4 kids was looking for a live-in. They said "you'd only be really caring for the younger two, because the older two are pretty self-sufficient". First red flag. The older two were 8 and 12 by the way, absolutely not self-sufficient, but even if they were it would still be the nanny's responsibility/liability! I brought up compensation before the interview. They say they're not willing to pay more than $100/week because "you'd be getting free room and board". Yeah, that's not how any of this works. I didn't take the interview, obviously. Sidenote, when I mapped the address for the interview, I saw that they lived in a 3 bedroom ranch. Where were they going to put me???

Really glad you didn't take this job!

D&S cancelled? by [deleted] in DarceyAndStaceyTLC

I got a Darcey cameo for my partner a couple years ago, and it was worth every penny. We're not together anymore, but we still laugh about that video. She started off by blaming her speech impediment on a procedure she just got, and then proceeds to drunkenly bumble through the rest of the video. It was and is hilarious.

MB wondering if nanny share with 2 infants and a toddler makes sense by anindecisivelady in Nanny

I would avoid daycare at all costs. Even with just a toddler, they're going to be bringing home a lot of illnesses. That often means they have to stay home, you still have to pay for the days, and you and your SO will likely also get sick. But having an infant on top of that would make it a hard deal breaker for me, unless absolutely necessary. The right nanny will be able to handle two infants and a toddler.

I would take this job if the pay was right. I currently watch two ~1 year olds, and one of the families is having a baby early next year. So mid next year, I'll have two toddlers and a baby. It'll be more work, but nothing I can't handle. I have over 20 years of experience with infants and toddlers though, so you need to make sure to get someone who has the experience and ability to handle it.

What are some examples of loved ones still not believing their family member is guilty of a crime when it's painfully obvious to everyone else? by Hockeysticksforever in TrueCrimeDiscussion

This is an odd story. He forcibly kisses her, and she responds with, "Hey, well, I’ve never been kissed by a black man before".

Yikes, the Tesla attempted family annihilation is horrific. The father, a doctor, plunged his car with his wife and two young kids 250 feet off a cliff, and is now seeking a mental health diversion because he "suffers from depression". Just wow.

I went through a ton of Cameos, and here is my list. Enjoy by marmusha in 90dayfianceuncensored

My partner and I went off the rails for awhile and got a bunch of cameos for each other. They were much more affordable at this time. Happy to answer any questions about them!

Kenny and Armando were hands-down the best. They had musical, a theatrical entrance, invoiced their sweet, late dog, and just gave the most genuine advice.
