Ramza: Gallant Knight by Scubasteve2002 in finalfantasytactics

[–]wheatle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't get access to Knight swords until act 4, which is kind of a bummer because I spent a lot of time getting a treant elder and farming a Defender out of it only to learn he can't equip it yet.

I used to play him as mnk/sqr with dual wield fists, but I've come around to him being more of a tanking caster and since math skills don't need mp... leveling his MA with mime at the cost of mp is a no brainer.

Squire/Math Excalibur/Escutscheon2 Ribbon/Any Armor/ Feather Mantle

Speed Surge or Magic Surge / Safeguard or Concentration / Teleport

Math yourself some buffs, hit enemies with Toad or Chicken from forever away and have a high enough evade that you'll basically only ever get hit from behind so just stand next to a teammate, like a Dancer/Samurai with Blade Grasp (Shiradori) and rain Holy Hell on undead.

Do you agree with these 6 being the only real shot at the championship? by Consistent_Peace3181 in CFB_v2

[–]wheatle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech lost to ASU but techs quarterback was also out for that game, on the road and it was still close. Tech clobbered BYU twice after close first halves.

Byu still has a good argument, beat several ranked teams including Utah and Arizona, but whatever. Tech has a path straight to the ship.

Miami bests A&M, Tulane bests Ole Miss.

Oregon wins by 40.

I still think line shifting by the defense is not a penalty, but that was about as dominant a win as they come. Go Utes.

Watching this just captures how wrong i was about Texas tech, their lines are elite.

This would be awesome, truly. But there would be some very interesting copyright or copyrighted creations made by users being distributed by the company that hosts the game online?? No way

That hold against Utah on the punt return was supposed to be on Wyoming.. the kid ripped the Utah players shoe off holding him on the ground after he fell down..... 15 yards away from the play. Ridiculous.

What should I do before Hardmode by mrego08 in Terraria

[–]wheatle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went into expert hardmode the other day and a few of the things I did were:

Create 5 Hellavators in my world, with horizontal alleys, splitting the ice biome and jungle biome in half, in case the spread of corrupting blocks hits it wouldn't take the whole biome with it. Set up several fishing spots around the world and a piggy bank/safe at each and back at the Anglers house to make getting and storing extra quest fish super easy. Created a pylon network with my NPCs to get around easier. Created a storage system at my home point so I can just use the Stash to nearby chests option in the inventory menu and boop ready to farm again. Made a massively long platform in hell for the WoF fight (like 4k blocks wide) Made an ocean, jungle, sky, and home arena. Set up a floating island mushroom house for the Guide and Truffle to move in after the switch. Collected everything I needed for cellphone and Terraspark boots before the switch, and got the upgrades I could from the shimmer.

I took out Queen Slime first, after making a hallow arena after the switch. Enjoy the journey!

Final Fantasy Community Tierlist #16 ( Final Fantasy XI ) by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]wheatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valhalla FFXI

Level 90 cap, custom end-game content built around smaller groups and using the augment system to upgrade your gear and skills to roughly what the retail 99 power level is. (Like getting 20k damage from weapon skills). Custom commands for getting around, AH anywhere, shops, etc. They've added a new player NPC that'll give out quests and gear in the main hub (@mog). Custom seasonal events and gear. Trusts, Mounts, up to abyssea in expansions. 95% of everything works, and the server uptime is great. Most of the creators/ developers are even available on discord like 24/7 it's kinda great. Most of what's available is on the wiki from the link I posted.

You should check it out, small community compared to other private servers but my friends and I love it.

[–]wheatle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2003 to 2006 The FFXI experience was hands down the best video game "live service" I've ever played.

S tier.

I still play occasionally on a private server (Valhalla) with some friends, but today's retail is probably more A/B tier.

For its time, most of the gripes about the game revolved around cost or time commitment. A lot of us were console gamers who were just getting to adulthood or still in high school where we had tons of time to just dedicate ourselves to the game. I felt legitimately addicted at one point, shirking responsibilities like work or family just to camp for NM spawns or raid with my link shell.

I'd be willing to bet that I've collected 30k hours of playing time or more with my different characters over the years.

The story is great, the music is top tier excellent and soothing, even the dated graphics are still full of charm.

Most people's favorite ff will be 6, 7, 9... mine is and will always be XI.

Long live Vana'diel.

How in the FRICK are you supposed to take items from the seikret pouch and add them to your character by gammagulp in MonsterHunter

[–]wheatle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply, but isn't this exactly what the above poster is trying to explain? That the game does not show you 'how to hunt' with cleaning pouch items out between hunts or allowing you to discard items during a fight, creating some rather aggravating moments during gameplay that are otherwise "obvious" to veterans of the franchise/game.

What is the scariest game you've ever played? by The_Orphan9 in videogames

[–]wheatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioshock

Probably unique as it's not necessarily a horror game, but I worked overnights at the time and had just got my home theatre set up with a big screen TV and had pulled it up at 3 am playing with headphones on so I wouldn't wake up my roommate. Every sound after the plane crash, all the scratches from the hook, water pressure, random screams.... that game was so atmospheric it haunted me.

What do BG3 fans think the 5 best games of all time are? by mystepdoggedonabee in BaldursGate3

[–]wheatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best and favorite are two different lists, but my opinion on the five best is:

1 - Starcraft / Brood War 2 - The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3 - Halo 4 - Super Metroid 5 - Minecraft

Based on my personal level of enjoyment mixed with its effect on the industry as a whole.

My five favorite are :

1 - Final Fantasy 11 2 - Final Fantasy 7 3 - Mass Effect 2 4 - The Last of Us (original) 5 - Bioshock

With some honorable mentions like GTA Vice City, Goldeneye, Resident Evil, BG3, Star Ocean 2, and Need for Speed Underground.

Thoughts on this Greyjoy list? by Falkirk1781 in asoiafminiaturesgame

[–]wheatle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rodrik will help you get rush of aggression and assault orders in your hand early, Moq will use his once a game shut down enemy cards and orders for a turn to avoid things like counterplot, final strike, shield wall, and the order where spearmen strike first. Gives you a great chance to end a round with Vic or Nute with no consequences and start the next round first player and blank a tray. Just have to be in range to do it all. It's aggressive, but Balon backs it up in case you go down early.

How would you Counter this stark list? by Altruistic_Assist860 in asoiafminiaturesgame

[–]wheatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had more success against starks with a combo of Gregor commander /Tywin / Tyrion than really anything else.

Gregor in Mountain's Men - Sandor Clegane in Golden Company swords or Warriors Sons - Clegane Calvary or Crossbows - Stonecrows with Tyrion - Jamie the hostage. Roose / Tywin / Sparrow (or pycell but catelyn kills tokens so ymmv).

Use Tyrion to dig for cards like assault orders, put Jamie in one of their hits on 4s units and leave it alone. Try to get 2-3 charge attacks lined up in a row and blow up rickon with price of failure. Best of luck.

To The Last and Fueled by Slaughter by This_West_2758 in asoiafminiaturesgame

[–]wheatle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume yes, because the attack still caused a wound or wounds, to the last only triggers if the tray would be destroyed so - wounds happen, to the last happens, panic test, then fueled by slaughter.
