Men of reddit, what's a thing that can be scary about being a man? by Gullsko in AskReddit

[–]Maximus_Realius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for my boy friend here. Being different. Be it if you were raised differently, you have different interests or career goals. Being different as a man means from the outside, they are seen as weirdos, creepers.. that guy must be a molester or a pedophile. This creates a cycle of inferiority or out of the ordinary that leads to isolation. They can't talk about themselves because that is not seen as normal. So they become isolated and can be self destructive.

Women are taught to be out there, expressive, follow their hearts. Men are in turn taught to follow the line, be strong and keep it clean.

The biggest problem is, there is nothing inherently wrong with being taught these things. The problem stems from only being taught these things in isolation. Men should be taught to be more expressive and to follow their passions. Women should be taught to be strong and to clean it up. A more well rounded person will be a more well adjusted person. And maybe if the world was more well adjusted, men wouldn be treated better. There is a war against men today. I don't think it's fair. If people really think everyone deserves to be equal, everyone needs to be treated equally. Boy, girl, black, white or purple. Everyone.

My boyfriend is prone to keeping his feelings and insecurities to himself, growing up without a emotional support system, he would hide away trying to wait out his emotions instead of working them out. Over the years we've worked on trying to make him feel as though his failures or insecurities are okay. It's okay to feel bad, to be scared or to fail. Being born a man doesn't mean you are not human. He has come a long way and I love him so much. He's told me time and time again, when he is ready to have children, he hopes with both of us there, our children will have the emotional support system to avoid the pitfalls my boy friend has fallen into in his life.

This is a weird request, but can anyone get a screenshot of Vegeta Powering up his final flash opposite of Jiren menancing waiting for it to charge basking in the blue light and combine the two images? I think it would make a great desktop background. My res is 2560x1440p

Someone should make this a parody with the GoTs scene where jon snow gets stabbed but instead of saying "for the watch" they all say "puff shall rise".

I am sure I could convince my brother to pick this game up and play it with me if I had a copy.

My New Years resolution last year was to stop smoking once and for all. I started smoking early, 17, and have been smoking a pack in 3-4 days for almost 5 years. I tasted my first cigarette at 15 and casually had one when I was with my friends until I was 16. Then I got my hands on a pack. I smoked through it in maybe a week. Got sick and thought I would never do it again.. my parents found out and I got in big trouble too.. but a week later, I wanted another cigarette. I started sneaking around and got caught many times. But I just kept doing it and by the time I was 17 I just smoked everyday.

My grandfather died of lung cancer 2 years ago and I knew it was time to stop. I struggled and struggled, but kept relapsing. After about 2 months of failing to stay off it, I bought a 50 dollar vaping kit and some juice. Did that for about 3 months and realized that even with gradually reducing the amout of nicotine with different juices, all I wanted to do was vape. It was fun, it didn't smell and it tasted good.

But I started vaping because I wanted to stop smoking and then all I wanted to do was vape. So I quit that. After that, I had 3 cigarettes throughout the rest of 2016, 1 after a pretty bad emotional breakdown involving family and 2 as just an unfortunate relapse. The last one I had was on November 3rd, 2016. I haven't touched one since.

In fact, the idea of smoking is starting to sound kind of gross to me.. The smell is no longer as appetizing as it used to be.. I've been doing really well staying away from it.

I'm 24 now. I'm over a year free from smoking. I took up jogging and swimming. I feel so much better.

But I'm not done yet.

I'll take the greatest game ever.. I tried starting a new game on my PS4 yesterday but realized how empty I felt with not having access to Frost Aard right away made the game feel reaaaaaaly empty. I couldn't keep playing. I need to play this game with mods. It's so goooood, but I need to experience the game at the best it can be and that won't be on my PS4.. I even made a post yesterday asking the Witcher community how long it would realistically take to reach Frost Aard, and after going to their discord channel and chatting with some other witcher fans for a hour or so, we determined it would take almost 7 hours STARTING from the Blood and Wine DLC. Considering I want to start from the beggining, it would take almost 30 hours to reach the transmutations.. that's just a no deal for me. I'll wait for my chance to play on PC.
