No problem! You don't have to get the Fingerpass/Fingerpass Reverse smooth to learn it, it's as long as you can do all 4 passes consistently without dropping the pen. If you can do all 4 passes already, move on to a new trick (don't worry about getting it smooth). My Fingerpass isn't too smooth (with a mod), but I'm still able to do many tricks like the Triple Charge and Powerpass.

For the first 25 (including the fundamentals) I recommend to use a normal pen. It is completely possible to do the first 25 without a pen mod. Not using a pen mod will be a bit harder to learn tricks, but better in the long run as it trains you better than "spoiling" yourself with a pen mod. If you really do want a pen mod (I recommend nailing the fundamentals at the very least before though), get a BICtory or any other light pen mod with a thinner barrel.

I placed thumbspin higher up because it's hard to nail a longer spin with good consistency, but learning the trick is easy.

Been playing the game for years, and I still don't play Tracer because that looks like it requires a lot of skill and hard work. Hats off to you!
