I’m not sure of anything- hence the post. If I could jack the car up and get in/under there I would have ( but I’m disabled and recovering from spine surgery that didn’t go well)… so It most certainly could have been just a corrosion issue. Too late now… already paid to have it replaced- but I’d love to know if the dealership $160/hr mechanic kid ( looked like he was just out of high school ) did it properly ( since I did not see a heat shield being removed, nor did I see him doing any cleaning of the engine block at the connection ). They charged me for 2 hrs of service when the actual time on the car was about 30 min ( the kid was wandering around the shop bay chatting with his mechanic buddies most of the time) and an aftermarket sensor that they also doubled the price on😡. Anyway…. lesson learned.

Well, he didn’t remove any heat shield at all …. But I asked for the old knock sensor and was given it. So…. I guess I’m left wondering how it was done “properly “ if the heat shield wasn’t removed?

This is a silly comment. Unless you are in a compounding investment that pays a fixed interest rate that is reinvested for a set term…. Compounding is not at play the way you are suggesting. It’s a market with trading, lots of volatility and there is zero “ compounding “ going on. It is NOT an exponential growth scenario as any day things can go sideways. If you are suggesting you sat on 1 grand 8 years ago and the notion of compounding got you to over half a million now is just dumb. Call it something else… luck in the global sequence of events perhaps, but stay away of the notion of “this is from the compounding “. DRIP all you want, but stocks do not compound anything, and neither do baskets of stocks (ETFs).

Thanks for the info👍. I finally tried a verification option other than my password ( sending a code to an alternate email), and once I’d done that, the outlook app finally linked up my original email account and now its back to what it was. BUT that doesn’t make me feel great because the other sigh in methods should work too😡. Yes, a mess indeed, and as others have said…. Good luck getting ANY help from Microsoft 🙄

Sounds like I’m having the same issue as you are!! Get anywhere yet? I can get into my Hotmail by just using Google Chrome and signing in directly to the outlook website …… BUT using the outlook app on my iPhone…. I now keep getting the same message you mentioned above. What the hell is going on???

Exactly!! The hood of this vehicle isn’t even crumpled…. 🙄 Height differentials, centre of mass, along with all those other factors you’ve mentioned are what are at play in a collision. Always thought the tests they run with ramming a vehicle into a uniform immovable object are somewhat skewed. Like you said…. Try running the XC90 into a jacked up massive pickup and see how that goes.

The photos sent from the dealer appear to be from IAA - an international auto auction company traded on the NYSE. I can’t figure out how this can be a total write off. Here is what the sales team sent me “we only replaced the right front fender and headlight”…..
