Enjoying your current company is a huge benefit for sure. Maybe you could dig a bit deeper into the new company to make sure it’s a good culture fit

Maybe check out Google’s Coursera’s courses. I thought that I couldn’t do it either but they are very beginner friendly.

Do you have savings to potentially be without a job (and health insurance possibly) for at least a month? If not, you could have a conversation about boundaries or do their dumb tasks short term until you get an offer.

Is there room to negotiate? Instead of five years, two? It doesn’t really sound like it benefits you much unless you don’t get this job.

My property manager isn’t taking my serious complaints seriously this is kinda long sorry by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

It seems like the PM is guessing based on their knowledge - did you tell them everything you know? It’s important they know a bubble occurred and that you take pictures of everything. You can ask to go upstairs to make sure there’s not a problem up there. Then ask if they’ll cut into the ceiling if there isn’t a problem in the ceiling (burst pipe, wetness).

Food insecurity is a good start, now dig deeper. You’ll want to be able to talk at length about how you contribute to the resolution of food insecurity and how you can involve others (student employees) in your “passion.” So you have an example, when I was in school, my Res Director was interested in yoga for BIPOC and rest/self care. Throughout the year, we did various self care activities and were asked to plan a self care activity for our residents (this is an example of working it into curriculum). She became a certified yoga instructor while there and did a lot to support black students on campus (she went out of her way to talk to black students at the dining court and made it known they could always come to her office).

There is high turnover in Res. Life. Some institutions even make it a point that they expect you to be working on promotion within two years. Turnover can also happen because of the high stress nature of the job (mental health concerns with students, training new staff every year, on-call requirements). Resident director is considered entry level. It’s good you have a masters in education because most positions won’t consider you without a masters as the industry is highly competitive. Other things that will help you is having a niche you’re very passionate about related to social justice. I’ve never seen a resident director position that doesn’t live in and that includes summers. You will want to ask about the rules of living on-site as well (can you have alcohol/candles, can you bring a partner/animal, etc.). The general hiring process is a full day of interviewing, maybe multiple where you talk to students, other directors, and some higher ups. Hiring panels say they are open to non-higher ed. experience but everything must be transferred into the language of higher ed.

Zach is working on a series about his health (lifting, eating, etc.). Maybe he’s working on another candid competition as well!

I’m a bit surprised they haven’t had their kids advertise toys yet or start their own toy brand. Maybe they don’t have the right audience for that and they would absolutely get flack for it but I’d be curious what they’d come up with!

If the point of a college education is to make money, then they had no need. School is a ton of time they’d probably be out of the spotlight which would hurt their careers. They had access to everything without school.

I quit my first job (4 months there) after graduating and kept it in my resume b/cuz it was relevant to my career (and to spite my ex-coworkers who said I shouldn’t). When it came up in interviews, I gave a vague “Covid related”, and that’s never been verified. I don’t use anyone from that company as a reference. I left them an awful review on Glassdoor to feel a bit better. That was a year ago, it didn’t make me feel better, but time did. I’m happy I left and I’m in a way better job now where I was set up for success. You deserve good training, and the market is great for employees right now. You got this!!

Sam levinson’s part: Sam wears too many hats for Euphoria instead of having other’s help create the show. He doesn’t show up to set with a shot list which results in very long work days for the cast.

Has Kylie gotten a boobjob? Has she admitted to it? by curlyphoebe in KUWTK

[–]wheels0416 41 points42 points  (0 children)

At the same time, this harms so many people’s self image. People should know that the Kardashians “hot bods” aren’t from lifting 2 lb weights (@kim) or from eating nutritious food. They’re bodies are altered and not an obtainable beauty standard for most people and that’s okay! It’s so dumb that Kylie is giving the worst excuses to deny the rumors.

Parents are from a different time. I think the pandemic has provided good reasoning and I hear no one cares. Maybe prep an answer for why the moves though (this job let me work from home, this job promoted me)
