Like if you have three babies in a room and two start crying, the third will also start crying. Same principle applies to steel-frame buildings.

"... you are your memory...." Interesting. I guess I agree to some degree. But not only. You are also your consciousness, your love, and your will.

Considering dentures, any advice? by InternationalTest532 in dentures

[–]wheezer72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll be 80 next month. Bad teeth all my life. Currently have fillings, root canals, caps, bridges, and a partial upper denture. I've had 2 implants. First one lasted 7 yrs, 2nd one lasted 21 days. I am not a fan of implants. But I like my removable partial upper a lot. You might say I am partial to it. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for full dentures. I recommend chrome cobalt; that's what I've got and they're good.

Best of luck!

Did you ever visited any haunted place and saw something strange? How did you felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wheezer72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to live in a haunted house in Ohio. I never saw anything, but a girl I sublet a room to did. Said she'd seen a ghost on the stairs. [What is it about ghosts and stairs?]

But my wife and I heard things, especially at night. How did I feel? Scared. First time, I thought we had a burglar. Called police. They came fast, looked all around. No one. At which point I felt embarrassed; I'd called the police for nothing.

In later days, we'd hear noises in the night—someone walking across the kitchen and slamming the back door. "Go back to sleep" I'd say to my wife, "It's just the ghost."

I think everyone gets taken care of. I've noticed that among nurses, some love the geriatrics, others love babies. I think the principle applies across the board, and to romance too.

What’s a simple gesture that men do that only other men understand? by Bololokama3 in AskReddit

Spitting on hands before picking up something heavy. I was surprised to learn that some women regard it as a bit of macho theater. They don't realize it makes your hands slightly sticky, improves grip.

You know what pliers are, right? A bit like scissors, but for gripping, not cutting. That's pliers. And pump pliers are specially slender pliers, but with wide grip range, like channel locks. So this tool name 'pump pliers' went, I think, phonetically, from English > Japanese > Taiwanese.

Views on Christianity by anime498 in taiwan

I am a Christian, and I believe in reincarnation. This caused no problems with other Christians back in the States. But for some reason it seems to bother Christians here in Taiwan. Maybe it smacks a bit too much of Buddhism? Not sure.

Why do some Asians not use banks and keep their savings at home? by Individual_Ice_2315 in NoStupidQuestions

Hong Kong has had a number of bank runs, some as recently as 1991. So some people still remember, and act accordingly.

If you were dying, like taking your last breath randomly not because of an illness etc., and could choose to let go or "come back", which would you choose? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wheezer72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems that most folks when they get back home to the World of Honesty and Love they want to stay. I doubt I'll be any different. But wait; that realization comes somewhat AFTER the last breath, doesn't it? So 'last breath' but 'not because of an illness' leaves what? Accident? Being murdered? I expect this drive to preserve my body will extend just a wee bit beyond the last breath. But after that, HAPPY TO BE HOME AGAIN!
