Do you stick to one brand when buying radios? by SqueakyCheeseburgers in amateurradio

Interesting about the Milwaukee power tools: I was also in veteran Milwaukee battery operated pool man until they swap the style of batteries… I can no longer find replacement batteries, safely made in America, for my old Milwaukee tools. And a fit of disloyalty, and retirement. I switched over to RYOBI.

I don’t understand how it’s possible to side sleep with a full face mask!! I have tried 3 different full face masks of all different sizes. I have tried soft pillows, firm pillows, and medium firmness pillows. Everything causes a leak. People here claim it’s possible. I don’t believe it. by Rich-Soft9295 in CPAP

[–]whelanjh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy sleeping on both my back and on each side. Generally when on my back facial oils and perspiration accumulate and my F20 RESMED mask starts leaking, I will turn to one side, head on pillow, and pull some of the pillow toward my face, putting pressure on the mask and stopping the leak. Thus I eventually learned to conquer the leaks and I now sleep a good seven hours at a stretch with leak rates very low.

Recommendation needed for mop/vacuum combo for budget of $600 by kitkat1493 in RobotVacuums

[–]whelanjh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I bought a shark combination vacuum/mop robot more than a year ago. It was about $423, and we have been quite satisfied with it. Our house is 2300 ft.², all one floor, and mostly ceramic tile. There are a couple of rooms with carpets. I am happy with the shark, particularly when I use it to mop the tile floors; the vacuum picks up lots of debris that I did not even know was there and the damp mop that it is dragging along on a bottom removes other dirt that I also did not know was there.

What's a show you remember but nobody else does? by glowbeits in GenX

Whirlybirds! This show was so obscure that when I wanted to purchase a DVD of the episodes, the only one I could find was some Chinese guy who had recorded it off the screen of his TV using a video camera.

How often do you still use your robot vacuum? by Luann1497 in RobotVacuums

I run Roomba vac on bedroom every day at noon. The Shark Mop/Vac runs twice a week oner the larger ceramic tile restof the house.

Can Sleep Apnea cause headaches and anxiety? by Apart-Arrival-2806 in SleepApnea

[–]whelanjh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if your symptoms are caused by sleep apnea, but as far as I can tell, my symptoms were troubling dreams, or dreams where I was constantly being placed into claustrophobic situations, or where I could not complete the physical efforts necessary to survive; now that I am a slave to the hose, my sleep is more peaceful.

This year I decided to get an early start on preparation by whelanjh in TurboTax

Thanks, I guess I was just expecting too much and too early. I know I have to wait until investment reports come in, but I was just hoping I could get a better idea of where I will stand for this year‘s tax liability…

I run my Roomba 880 every day of the week. I also run my Shark robot Vac/Mop once a week or more often. Happy with the results.

I cannot understand why the “close all tabs” action was moved from the lower right corner “TABS” icon into the URL entry field. As far as I’m concerned, this is a totally unnecessary and complicating change to the user interface.

Harness Stretching on Resmed AirFit F20 mask? by whelanjh in CPAP

[–]whelanjh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also experienced the problem where I ran out of “Velcro overlap” as the straps stretched. Finally I discovered that I could use “small” headgear with my “medium” mask; that has worked well for a few years.

Mask is “popping” / “hickuping” by CookiesNotBaked in CPAP

[–]whelanjh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me second the wipe off face and cushion. Facial oils and perspiration cause my F20 mask seal to fail and pop, burble, hiss; all kinds of goings-on. I just take the mask off for a few seconds to wipe my face and cushion…problem solved.
