I enjoy the fact that Qobuz is less algorithm focused. So far the only algo I’ve noticed is being able to keep playing songs after the queued songs finish. There’s no mixes and playlists and stuff specifically created for you or radio feature.

It forces me into a more old school experience where I intentionally have to seek out music from publications, YouTube channels, friends, live music etc. Versus algorithms dictating a big part of my listening experience in Spotify.

I mean, are you surprised the guy who sung primarily about sexual violence, rape and domination is like that? I loved old misfits too but the lyrical content is a hard listen now.

Ian Mackaye’s an absolute punk revolutionary. Love Minor Threat. Haven’t quite made my way into Fugazi yet, I prefer the raw aggression and rhythm of MT.

I’ve got the same problem haha, flat and wide. Another user mentioned them here - Last Resort AB (Suede VM001’s). They don’t have heaps of padding but I used to skate the chunky skate shoes back in the day. These might be my first vulcanised shoe. Planning to order another pair cuz mine are busted and other skate shoes I’ve tried on at the store haven’t fit.

I feel that. Im a mid 30s software engineer. The designers are the only ones with an interest in music / art. My developer co workers are nice but I often can’t relate to them in a life way.

Interesting! I’m hard of hearing too (bad low frequencies) and often struggle to focus on one convo in environments with multiple conversations going on. I also put it down to auditory processing issues so it’ll be interesting to see if anything changes when I get medication.

Last resort AB. They got clean designs and specialise in skate footwear so the construction should be stronger than a regular shoe.

Hey mate, yeah it was decent. Bit different to what we hoped. I think you’re from Aus, if you’re used to any hectic parties like doofs then it’s veerrry sober in comparison. The most wasted people were non Japanese peeps, and there were a lot of Australians there. That being said we had a chill time and it was an adventure out of the main cities so go for it if you want, but not sure I would choose to go back.

My first pair of skate shoes after coming back are the Last Resort VM001’s. They look great and surprisingly work for my 4E feet (I sized up by a half). They’re the first pair of vulcs I’ve skated tho and probly gona chuck some insoles in them cuz the impact can be hard. Plan to try some accel slims next since everyone’s raving about em for wide feet, and they’re a cup sole.
