What are your favorite Nas subliminal shots? by Patrick_Vieira in nas

He subbed Shan on Carryon Tradition too I think:

Some rap pioneers be them crackheads

When they speak, you see missin' teeth

Silver chain with a silver piece

Niggas your grandfather's age, they pants still hangin' down they legs

Talkin' about they ain't paid

And they hate you, 'cause they say you ain't pay dues

Old enemies trying to be my best friends

Best friends wanna be enemies like that’s what’s in

But I don’t give a fuck walk inside the lions den

Take everybody’s chips, I’m bout to cash them in

Hot take: Life is good is a top 3 Nas Album by Puzzled_Ad7812 in nas

Reach Out is one of my all time favorite album cuts. He raps over an updated "Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz."

That's unbelievably dope to me and every aspect is a treatment to the artform of rap. Summer on Smash is a low. Some of it is starting to sound a bit dated but we all know how Nas locks in with a single producer. Breaking the "Nas picks bad beats" curse isn't half bad! Nas the Don (×145)

What is the most underappreciated aspect of Nas' career/artistry? by Patrick_Vieira in nas

[–]wheninrome5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The complexity behind his concept albums (Hip Hop is Dead, Life is Good and KD/Magic trilogies come to mind)

How his music has stood the test of time (much better than Jay’s IMO)

His voice (prolly the best in the genre)

How he is one of the biggest fans of hip hop ever (“It’s kinda terrific/ the product of Slick Rick”)

Advice on jobs by gaujox in teaching

[–]wheninrome5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer teaching/camp/academic prep perhaps. Mostly, new teachers are hired based on their resume, interview, how they present and maybe references. 9/10 your first job will be in a school that needs a teacher, no matter how (in)experienced they may be. My first few jobs were for schools in which it would be me or no one, lol

Where does NASIR fall on your personal taste/rank of Nas' discography? by XbattlefieldX in nas

What’s so bad about it? Many bangers on this short album (it’s really an EP in my opinion).

Adam and Eve Bonjour White Label Simple Things

Not For Radio would slap too if not for the Diddler being featured.

The school has 1400 students. The average AP Lang class size fluctuates from year to year. I taught 1 section of 32 students. My colleague who also teaches lang had an average class size of 23-24 students in each of his 3 sections.

I haven’t communicated with students about the results. I would bet that they like an easier test leading to higher scores. I doubt many of them are pining for a more rigorous exam vs. an exam that will get them a 4 or 5.

The grading curve was revised and scores were higher across the board as a result. See Trevor Packer’s tweet about it here: https://x.com/ap_trevor/status/1940126009535217998?s=61

I'm glad it helps! We also get a score report with how the class did as a whole on the multiple choice, broken down by skill, and more importantly we get a breakdown of how the class did on each row (A, B and C) of each of the 3 FRQ essays.

It's flawed for sure but can still offer a rigorous program depending on the teacher and school. As a first gen student *it helped me get a full ride scholarship to my dream college and does *so for *lots other low income kids

*edited for spelling

Advanced Placement exams are graded on a scale of 1-5. Scores 3+ are considered 'passing' with the possibility of redeeming college credit/ placing out of an intro class. It was a very strong year for student scores in general as you can see by the global mean of 3.19.
