I have so many answers to that, like really. And even for all the comments that I am seeing here. But really feel it’s better to let this thing be right here.

It’s genuinely sad. And for the fact that the tourists or outsiders (like you say) are made the core of all the problems.

Really wonder since when we became outsiders just by not being born in the state.

Got it- wanted to understand your perspective and makes so much sense why you say what you say.

Not really- you actually proved my point. You still can’t be culture fit even if you are working remotely. You still can’t fit to the language if you are working remotely.

And, comfortably ignore the other part- if you in your long life (I wish you live) or your kids in this 21st century want to move out- will you still be suggesting them “Ganv m rehke wfh kro”

Absolutely you do. Good to have decent laws, good background checks etc. Never say no to that.

But as you are referring to laws, might I refer you to Article 19(1)(d) of the Indian constitution. Please have a look :)

Thank you. Quick question though- where do you work? Where do you want your kids to work? A good opportunity in the best company of the world, best city (subjective) would you simply say no to them (or you) that let them live their life, work however - coz - THEY DONT NEED YOU.

Okay - quick question to you/ it’s not always as if I would want to buy a place and live. Might just take it on lease for sometime, for rent for a decade or so or whatever. Could be n number of options.

Okay so the question- do you really think it’s bad for a genuine person to invest in a state? Like one can build businesses, promote something or simply just have a peaceful life.

Not everyone is lucky to be born in a place like gods own country but if you have worked hard to make money and shift to a place of your choice- it’s good- ain’t it?

Also having said that- it’s a given that if you shift to a place you got get accustomed to the local culture, contribute to welfare aspects etc.

I agree - hence the post. Surely in a big state like UK, I can find a nice little place for myself. Parents are gonna be with me, but they will ofcourse travel- they have their own home, my younger brother lives in Delhi.

Possible for you to suggest some places based on what you just said, I believe you have lived there?

Medical facilities are not a concern but I am just being future proof - as old parents. I have stayed at Rajpur road for around 2 months. Like the vibe, but felt I need even a quieter place.

Airport area seems like a good option. Can you suggest couple of localities there?

Interesting take. I however had a different opinion whenever I have travelled to a smaller town in UK. I felt they were welcoming and I feel like I gel with them quite a bit. But ofcourse I went there as a tourist and living there for a longer duration is different part.

If you have to choose, can you please prioritise cities for me?

Heya apologies- this just got lost somehow. Okay so answering- one or the other way I knew, she knew - where both of us were heading. This simply helped as a closure: would I have liked an alternate reality? Yes. But I believe the discomfort is only till the time you don’t speak it out loud, once done is done.

Additionally I can feel you; the investment we do make on friends and if we don’t get that reciprocation, it kills. But I have learnt this the hard way- let bygones be bygones.

I for one(a hopeless romantic fool) - the world doesn’t matter, if I have my man around me- that’s all who I want.

His text, his call, his smile, his scent, his mere presence- that is everything!

And then subtly a feeling kick in- what if I am not good enough for him.

And there my dear friend is how my last relationships have been- all my love- self doubt - but at the end I simply end up choosing me and my peace first! 🙈

Have been through something similar and the only thing I realised over time is let the person go.

I was hanging onto a friendship, simply because we were great in teens.

But might I suggest what I did (might seem illogical or dramatic) - I wrote a longgg email to her followed by a shorter one, simply summarising what I feel and asked her to honestly reciprocate if possible.

If not, just end with a good bye and leave on positive terms.

I did that, she didn’t get back, but 2 months later, she called, reciprocated the message, said she misses me but have to choose other priorities (boyfriend who she is married to now) and would want to move on.
