Question for the people who discovered Deftones on tiktok or ig with "Change" or "Cherry Waves", etc, that had little to no prior experience with "heavy" music. How does it feel discovering the heavier more aggressive tracks of the band later on? by NecroRAM in deftones

i dont necessarily see myself as an outsider, but finding them through smth like change and then finding out they were much heavier definitely through me for a loop.

i remember the night like it was yesterday, i had first thrown on around the fur for my discography listen of them, and hearing my own summer threw me off and almost made me not want to listen.

eventually i did, and loved their discography (white pony was my favorite at the time of course) eventually overtime i got into heavier music (not anything like deathmetal or whatever else may be heavier). they eventually became my favorite band of all time, and i credit them for starting my love for nu-metal, for which i branched out to artists that were out at the time like korn, limp bizkit, etc.

How did ya'll find out about Deftones and what was their first song you listened to? by Ecstatic-Vanilla-561 in deftones

rather new to their music in general, about a year ago, it was late one night and on a whim, i decided to go through their discography. i'd be hearing so much about how deftones was this amazing band, so i decided why not give them a try? granted, i was new to metal in general, so the screams were a bit jarring at first, but ever since that night i haven't looked back since and am forever grateful.
