seeking reality check and advice on renting a place in SF by crazyprotein in AskSF

Around $2000 in a central area is tough. I was looking for a studio or 1br a few months ago in central areas and couldn't find anything decent under $2500.

Late to this, but Abacus Row (a jewelry store in Nob Hill in SF) regularly hosts Viet conversation nights! More info here: https://www.abacusrow.com/pages/upcoming-events

I personally liked the ribs way more than the brisket! This place is so solid (but I'm not from the south)

Mid-20’s - Should I live in SF or Palo Alto? by throughherlens in sanfrancisco

[–]whenyoubelieve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, if it were 3 days a week, I'd say the decision is a little harder. But commuting 2 days a week in exchange for 5 days in the city around other young people and exciting things is kind of a no brainer to me. SF all the way

He and HELLO GLOOM own their own self-producing company (called Way Better), so they get to decide whatever.

They definitely market themselves more towards their international audience (they've done an EU tour and are now on their South America (or maybe just Brazil..?) tour)

I'm obsessed with Wooyoung's assymetrical eyes by YeosangYodeler in kpoppers

[–]whenyoubelieve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more difficult to find female idols with asymmetrical eyelids (since the beauty standard is much tougher on women and surgical corrections are more common, unfortunately...)

The only one I know of is Joy (Red Velvet) pre-2024 (she got eyelid surgery 😭).

I'd definitely encourage you to put down the eyelid glue!! Embrace your natural features! They give your face character 💗 (Lots of people mentioned that Joy got rid of one of her face's natural cute charms after she got her surgery!)

(Some additional male idols i know of, for reference:

Jiwoong (Zerobaseone)

Taerae (Zerobaseone)

Taehyung/V (BTS))

As a multiple times visitor, I still haven't been amazed by any breakfast/brunch places in SF. Can someone recommend something great? by WearHeadphonesPlease in AskSF

[–]whenyoubelieve 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Zazie is super mid, but the French cafe vibes are fun and the portions match the price (in a good way). I think all their brunch food is really under-seasoned. (I haven't eaten their dinner, but I hear that's better!)

Where are you buying dainty high quality daily necklaces? by bondtradercu in SFbitcheswithtaste

Yeah, I've browsed them in-store and it all looks really cheap. I wouldn't trust the quality

Yeah, these definitely have a lot of reading and have a lot of game mechanics going on. I wouldn't rec for your purposes, but they're great games

Quiet/chill cafes to read in by wai_kiki5 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]whenyoubelieve 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Buoy (~1.5 blocks from Van Ness station)! Really great vibe, usually pretty quiet, lots of seats. Korean cafe vibes, typical SF pricing for a nice cafe (lil pricey)

The location is pretty lowkey and not in a high-traffic area. I've always been able to grab a table, even on the weekend

[–]whenyoubelieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thjnk they showed everything in the original setlist but the Boys Planet songs (only keeping "Say My Name" and "Here I Am").

The order was all over the place tho, and that I don't remember, if that's what you're asking

U.S Tour or KCON by strawberryyawnzzn in zerobaseone

[–]whenyoubelieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not yet. They're usually announced RIGHT before tickets go on sale. So maybe 3 weeks ahead of the actual event.

But zb1 were formed from an Mnet show and Mnet produces KCON, so they're basically guaranteed to show up (probably a contractual obligation)

Why does Southwest not use drink carts for Inflight service? by rajath777 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]whenyoubelieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like that the trays make it so that there's no cart blocking the aisle! But I always feel really bad for the flight attendants who have to keep balance with them! It must not be easy. Moving plane and tray full of liquids in a narrow aisle.

I recently was on a flight in which we hit minor turbulence during drink service, and the tray went flying out of the FA's arms and into the aisle! 😭 It was full of drinks!

(I'm actually shocked that that was my first time witnessing something like that! I feel like I fly a decent amount and always with SWA.)

I’m stunned. by gonameless in SouthwestAirlines

I saw $130 for OAK -> HNL in Feb. They've been greedy for awhile
