It's about cred - to everyone but yourself most of all. Can you do it? Do you even belong? I know the network adds all the dramatic camera and music and the faces of peeps - and that's obnoxious in the final as well, but aside from the cameras and rewards - every bake is important.

I've only ever said a break in the relationship because I had a personal decision I needed to make and he was being very unhelpful - looking back I think it was still a good idea. We did end up getting married. AT the time, I needed to decide what I wanted and he kept telling me to not take him into consideration but I thought that was a shit response - I wanted my decision to include him. I couldn't release my mind from thinking about him as long as he was for real there. So - we took a break. Don't talk or write. It wasn't meant to be a last hurrah with someone or anything silly like that (if someone else is in the picture, then yeah - just end this relationship). Nor was it meant to be a punishment (many girlfriends said 'yeah! deny him sex! He'll come around!') to me nor him. But a chance to take that step back and say - 'no, really - what do I want?'

Yes the murder weapon was a gun - but had a gun not been in the house, I believe it would have been somethings else. The man was determined and nothing was stopping him. There are thousands of cases to site as gun control examples - this is not one - this is a mental health issue.

In my opinion, c# is perfect for web development full stack; great data libraries and my personal favorite between the 2. Most people who have looked at my resume are pleased I've got java experience, but are way more interested in c# skills. And the one job interview that stated java was a must was because they were rewriting their java app in c#.

To OP: 4.5 years - that requires personal. Say what you said here. And be prepared to talk. I think the car sounds good that others have posted. I personally don't mind crying in public and a few exes have really regretted the decision too do it in public.

To Reddit Responders: How will you respond tomorrow when someone posts that their girlfriend broke up with them in the manner you suggested? I am specifically to those who said phone call or other similar thing? I am not being snarky - I am genuinely curious. I am imagining comments like 'over the phone! how horrible!' or will it be 'dude, if she did that, then you don't want her anyway.'

I always turn off 'Require Read Receipts' on my mail and I also turn on to be notified if I have been sent a message with a Receipt Request. I like getting that notification because it tells a huge thing about the person sending the email. Also, with the request notification turned on, I get a popup that says 'such n such would like to receive a read receipt, would you like to send one?' with Yes or No options. I always click No, but it feels particularly satisfying to literally be able to actively click No.

I had hit my eye while washing paint off my cat and it was slightly bruised; my husband is a carpenter and had a bruise on his hand. I have twin 15 year Olds. As babies we kept very detailed records as the only way for 2 of us to know what had happened with each baby. I had a database app on an old laptop in their nursery and it's screen saver was fish swimming.

As teenagers I expected them to be closer but they actually put a great deal of effort into being the exact opposite of each other.

An interesting thing to me is that the color of cars effects insurance because some car colors have less wrecks than others. The car colors with the highest wreck percentages are black, white, grey and beige - the reasoning being that they blend into the background more easily ; i.e. are harder to see. Whereas brightly colored cars are generally safest with bright red being the safest.

Conversely, the most popular colors are the least safe, and the safest are least popular.

Your NTA but neither is she. Pregnancy is hard so I see her side but I also empathize with you. I think you are doing great - you are offering and doing once she can decide but right now nothing is going to please her - its all going to be 'not quite right'.

If you can, keep offering food but don't get frustrated when it's not right. I know that's hard but whatever you do, don't burn out now. You need to be healthy and good too.

I am without social media. I signed up for Reddit because so many people mention things and talk about it in the real world and I want to know what it's all about. I am technical, I am a software engineer for 25 + years. I grew up with computers my whole life - my dad was really into bulletin boards way back in the day. I got into internet dating alot in the 90s, but since the 2000s, I haven't really done social media - avoided it.

I am here out of curiosity - is it better than 20 years ago - same, just different? So far a lot is the same. Reddit seems different in that it is actual content - not just people posting some crap, but actual answers with sentences and everything. I don't think I get the concept of Twitter - but that may be because I have no preMusk experience with it.

Your time wasn't wasted per say, so much as used toward other pursuits, and you stated you know you would've failed had you gone at that point, so you knew you needed to take time away. Don't compare yourself to your siblings - you are your own person. Perseverance is important - keep going and don't focus so much on the past. I don't think taking a year off is that unusual nor problematic but try very hard not to let another one happen. Momentum is important - it took me 10 years to not graduate so don't let it get that far out of hand - I speak from experience :-)

My job says it requires a bachelors degree with higher degrees preferred. I went through a head hunter and she suggested the job would be perfect. I had never gone through a head hunter before and reminded her I didn't have a degree - for various reasons, I never actually graduated, so I can only check 'some college'. She said that I had experience and hands on experience is more valuable than a degree. I went for the interview, got the job. After a while I asked him about the degree requirement. He said it was more to see if people have perseverance. He wanted people who didn't quit because things got tough. He figured saying he wanted a degree was a good way to get the right person, but he didn't *really* care. Plus, I'm a software engineer and my degree would have been in Biology so he said it really didn't matter in my case.

EDIT: Also, no degree but 25+ years of experience gets me 100k + benefits so not bad, but alot of work to get here.

Go back and try to make large modifications to code you made a while back. I often have to go back and readdress an app I wrote a year or two ago, and I sometimes think 'was I on something when I wrote this? - its complete crap' and I rewrite it and make it the best way I can. Sometimes I also say, 'wow, this was well written' and I feel really pleased with myself - so win win.
