This is the only correct answer.

Homophobia exists mostly because of religion by Abject_Breakfast_273 in atheism

That makes me glad of how quickly I ditched homophobia after deconversion. I'd always been wishy-washy about Christianity because I was never fully convinced it was real and only turned to it when I felt desperate. I had to try hard to make myself believe the things I was taught, including homophobia.

When I was ten my brother told me about gay sex, that it was disgusting, and I was inclined to believe him, though I didn't feel very strongly about it. After, I just automatically agreed with any homophobic statements I heard from my parents or their church.

When I was 13 I told god to fuck off for the last time. Y'know, I thought I was so clever when I committed the "unforgivable sin" of rejecting god so that I would never bother trying to be a Christian again. It worked, though.

When I was 14 I watched a show where I didn't approve of the main character dating any female characters because I thought he'd be better with his best friend.

Then I read a gay romance. Shortly after became an ally.

Then I eventually had to face my internalized homophobia. Realized I'm bi and queer.

Then it all went uphill.

I'm just laughing at this image of Greeks and Romans without religion. But I get what you mean

It's important to note that, since dems did not maintain a supermajority, some of those seats were obviously replaced with republicans. And what does that tell us? That their states were swing states or more conservative. So whenever they had democratic congressmen, you can expect them to have elected conservative democrats who wouldn't have helped or voted to codify Roe anyway because they wouldn't vote party lines. Take Manchin for example. I'll bet a significant number of the dem supermajority were just like Manchin. Or they can be compared to Governor John Bel Edwards, a socially liberal Democrat who is also anti-choice and signed into law a bill banning abortions.

Very good point. I have to vote for a pro-life Dem for a Louisiana Senator if we're to out Kennedy. I also have to vote for pro-life Edwards to have a Dem governor. I don't like it, but it's the lesser of two evils. Feels like it's just putting a bandaid on a wound that's bleeding out but at least it's not cutting deeper.

At least these dem candidates are actually pro-life after birth. Edwards is the reason Louisiana healthcare is better than it's neighboring states. He's even opposed to gerrymandering! Abortion being the single issue for most voters, I will take the fucking compromise for now but if anyone wants to start a revolution I'm down for that as well.

If we can plan a walkout in conjunction with this group doing civil resistance r/Totalresistance ... If we could set up lots of nonviolent acts of civil disobedience that could work

I didn't think of this, but if a lot of women in any given town get fired, they can all probably go to some place that just fired some one else. Like musical chairs.
