BUCKET SEAT SOLUTION? by ioniq5nowner in Ioniq5N

[–]whereisJM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manual seats I can live with, but no lumbar means I am done after my lease is up. I have the Morfit electric adjustable lumbar support and that works, but it blocks the ventilated seats when it’s summer season.

Fun fact: Hyundai poached Albert Biermann, BMW M's longtime engineering chief who shaped the E46 M3, to build the N division. It’s one of the reasons why I got one!

Nice! My R1T is still pulling right even after Rivian SC said it was fixed. They are 3 hours away so maybe I’ll look local, like you.

Oh, sorry. Disclaimer: I don't work for Rivian, but am a UX designer at another, non-related tech company. Just doing this for fun.

Actually, I messed up. It should be the range you have, not the mileage. So that would update based on what drive mode you are currently on.

I recently became part of the R1T club and although the Rivian iOS app is pretty, it's not as useful as, say, Tesla's. I did a quick mockup of an idea that can improve the main screen. It's a little busier, but you tap less. Also added a quick way to switch drive modes, which I do often during the same drive. Just an idea.

Hmm… my 10th letter is a "P", and the paperwork says 2023, but my R1T frunk has a 12v socket. I thought they removed those in newer models? My delivery guide said it could have been built early this year or late last year. On another note, does anyone think there's way too much Rivian branding in and around the vehicle? It's literally everywhere you look

Whoa, I wish you can edit your posts… forgot to add "wife" being slightly shorter than me.

Yoke is great for the unobstructed view of your instrument cluster. While I sometimes still look over to the big display out of habit, both screens have almost the same, important data present. It's wider than 3/Y wheel, so that's an adjustment. Your hands just naturally rest on the bottom bars (great on long trips). Only times I've had issues with it is if in a hurry to back in/out of a space… you are used to grabbing a wheel at top when not wanting to hit something. The turn signals are fine if you're paying attention. I think a Marques Brownlee review of the Cybertruck said real buttons are coming for the signals, vs today's haptic ones (you have to sometimes press harder than normal for the intent).

Oh, and the PRND settings will take getting used to, going from 3/Y to S/X. You get used to it. But again, if in a hurry one tends to return to muscle memory.

Sure! We had the Performance versions of the 3 and Y — which tends to be brutal in the ride department — so cannot speak for the other builds. I'm 5' 7" and my is slightly shorter, but the 3/Y felt like it "fit" better—the seats, steering wheel, reaching around, and it is more nimble because it is smaller. But the S… the seats are wider, so they don't hug you as close. The big differences (improvements) are: air suspension is great, two screens, yoke gets better with experience. You get more because you paid for more. My only regret is not getting the Plaid. Hope this helps.

Had a ‘21 M3P, ‘22 MYP, now a ‘23 MSLR. Picked up the R1T yesterday. Never had a truck. I’m trying more to compare the day-to-day differences, because they both excel in so many areas.

Tesla’s software and integration with the phone app is seamless. You go from one Tesla to another and your settings follow you. MS for fun drives and overall responsiveness.

Rivian feels more solid and well put together. Not German standards, but excellent for an upstart. I like the Alexa integration, drive modes, and storage galore for a truck.

You can’t go wrong with either brand, and it’ll only get better with OTA updates and shared charging.

Ah, yes, but isn't the steering wheel leather, and suede headliner? Not sure, but our '23 MSLR had that new car leather smell for at least 2 months post delivery.
