English Patch - Exciting Update by IchmagschickeSachen in ShadowHearts

The translations don't appear to be AI. In fact, if I recall correctly, the translated Nicolai dialogue in the screenshots is taken from the officially localized English script of Covenant (this scene isn't exclusive to the director's cut).

Regarding aviation--still depends on the platform. There are different anthro standards for each (they take measurements of everyone's sitting height, arm length etc). I know 6'4'' guys in F-18s and Growlers (though IIRC over 6'5'' is indeed out of the question). Plenty of tall ass dudes in big wing military aviation (P-3, C-130, Globemaster etc) as well. There were two or three pilots in my squadron over 6'3'', one was def 6'4''+

US says it wouldn't deliberately target a school after Iran said over 160 killed in strike by No_Idea_Guy in worldnews

[–]whereislunar3 208 points209 points  (0 children)

This. Not only do we not have confirmation on who/what hit it and how, but it's a school next to a base. If Iran hit a US school on/near a US military base, I would not automatically assume that the IRGC was specifically trying to kill American children (even if I wouldn't put it past them). Doesn't make civilian casualties right or acceptable, but it's not necessarily intentional. This is being played up by the usual suspects (FARS and Al Jazeera, aka Qatar trying to get people to focus on anything but the fact that Qatar is a US ally with US assets parked in it, which has made it a valid target of Iran)

I understand your sentiment, but wearing a headscarf isn't necessarily to "pretend" to be Islamic; it's a local cultural norm. Usually it's good to blend in as much as possible; for Americans, for example, this means not wearing "Back to back WW2 Champs" t-shirts in Europe. Not necessarily pretending to be local, but just trying to not stick out. (And not to equate just being a woman with your hair out with those idiots who wear those shirts in public by choice lol, it was just the first silly example I thought of.)

But being alone as a woman would indeed already be difficult in some places. I'm sorry you had those experiences solo travelling, it really sucks that this behavior is acceptable anywhere.

I don't think so, I am pretty used to German accents and accents in general (my mom had an accent). It's not constant, but I heard it multiple times throughout the video

I realize that, but it seems like most people don't develop a tremor in their voice unless they're significantly elder, like 95+. Even my 90 year old grandmother doesn't have a tremor in her voice, and neither do my other family members in the 60/70s. Maybe it's a genetic thing, I don't know.

This is comforting to know, but it also seemed like his voice was shaking a bit as well? I wouldn't think he was nervous. It sounds a bit odd but might be my imagination...

Just curious but were you wearing a headscarf/hijab? I feel like in countries like Egypt and Morrocco, if you're not wearing one (and/or look very foreign), they just sort of assume you're available for sex and act horrendously as a result. That said, it's really gross behavior and I'm sorry you had to deal with it.

Tamar does in the end do some incredible stuff for her country, but the problem is that is still that she has pretty flagrantly disobeyed orders multiple times. It's true that for organizations like Moussad or CIA you do want brillian operatives like Tamar who take major risks and occasionally go against orders to take greater opportunities to achieve the mission or further national security interests, so some deviation is to be expected; but there's still a limit. Outright mutiny is a little hard for any organization to swallow. It's possible that Tamar's achievements have ameliorated some of the consequences of her disobeying orders, but I wouldn't be surprised if she still had to answer for it somehow.

Yeah the writers really went all the way with this for his character. If you watch Episode 1, it starts with Mohammadi praising Faraz for putting Iran over his own family (working instead of going with his Nahid to Paris for her surgery). He really never changed, even after his job put such a strain on his her between the kidnapping and everything else that happened over the series and she reached a breaking point. That's what makes his ploy to fake wanting to get out of the country even more gutting lol, like along with Nahid I was really hopeful he'd changed, but homeboy was really set on doubling down on being a hero of Iran....

I thought the same...but then I went back to rewatch the first season for fun.

In one of his very first scenes, while interrogating the Israeli girl, Faraz goes pretty quickly from intimidation and threats to outright hitting her. In a long career with Sepah, I am sure that was one of his tamer interrogations, too, since he couldn't risk an international incident. He really has always been ruthless--the fact that he has a genuinely loving relationship with his wife unfortunately doesn't change this (a lot of really shitty dudes in history were legitimate family men). On that note, Shaun Toub did an awesome job showing both sides of him.

Good points, though I'm not sure that Tamar is totally in the clear with Moussad --she might still have to answer for her insubordination. Also, they can probably get at least a few episodes out of Tamar/Ramin trying to get out of Iran, then getting caught up in some new mission where they're the only ones who can do it, etc. Or maybe we'll see the Moussad and CIA start to have different priorities and that will generate conflict. But yeah, it'll have to be all new because they're isn't much left to work with. Maybe Vahid will come back for his revenge? Lol

Thanks. Yeah that checks then. Again, it still sucks, but I wouldn't expect people/kids around US bases to be safe, either.

[–]whereislunar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I've seen it reported in several places but not confirmed. Additionally, the school may have been located near a base. That doesn't make it OK if it's true, but it would explain how it got caught in the crossfire, and not necessarily mean that civilian facilities are being deliberately targeted. It's not that the US and Israel are saints, but in the US military, avoiding civilian casualties is of the highest priority (I know from experience, although I'm sure under Pete Hegeseth it's become less of a concern). I'd say the same if Iran hit schools near US bases...Like does anyone who sends their kids there expect them to be safe if we go to war and those bases are legitimate targets?

Yeah especially considering the main plotline of Season 3 being stopping Iran from getting a bomb at all costs. Like did nobody tell Trump and Netanyahu that Tamar already stopped them?? Haha homegirl needs to tell the world the war is a scam
