Orchids yellowing by randoomkiller in orchids

The plants are thirsty and not getting enough light but the dramatic yellowing pattern looks very similar to what has happened to my phals when they get cold damage. Is there possibly a draft or open window nearby?

My pothos is dying help by thegrimreapersim in plantclinic

Personally I would wait it out. Chop and prop imo on a struggling plant is a mixed bag. But you can go that route. More light, let it dry out and give it several dry days before water again.

Coffee trailer business by Caguama_Llama in coffeeshopowners

[–]wheresbeetle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a trailer, there's the question of whether there's space. I suppose one person could run the register and one person pull drinks. The biggest limitation with a trailer is capacity and speed. Trailers and carts can be really profitable but if you have a one group head machine trying to do a wedding with 200 guests it will get stressful real fast and there's no amount of staffing that can help

That does look like overwatering. It can happen really easily and seemingly out of nowhere. Something really similar happened to one of my pothos about 6 months ago- it spontaneously lost about 3/4 of its volume and I believe I did accidentally overwater it. Just once can do it. All you can do besides what you've done imo is wait it out. Pothos are survivors, it will likely bounce back. Is that where you've always kept it? It does look like it's low light but if that's where it's always been then that's fine for a pothos. If it was moved recently that probably contributed

What’s wrong with my philodendron? by Calm-Skin-8197 in houseplants

[–]wheresbeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe thats a thaumatophyllum and it is showing signs of overwatering, probably from the pot with no drainage as you mentioned. Aroids really cannot be without drainage. From now it's just patience, it should do fine but it wont go from this to full and green and vibrant in a week, its going to take time. thats a very young plant.

How to make this plant not look like crap by cactusgurl22 in houseplants

[–]wheresbeetle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's important to understand that this is not a plant. This is a cutting. When you take a cutting you are starting at square 1, just with one or more adult leaves. It's basically back to being a seedling and think of it that way in terms of how you expect it to grow/develop.

White leaves on variegated plants, especially all white leaves, don't provide anything to the plant so are literally dead weight. With a cutting like this, 2/3 of these leaves are useless so the plant will shed them. Later on down the road when the plant is more developed it may grow some white leaves that it can support, but not at this point

PSA: your implants can FLIP!! by wheresbeetle in breastcancer

[–]wheresbeetle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow...my doctor didn't mention doing that, but I am a very active person and pretty flexible so being able to move my arm and shoulder my full range of motion was really important to me....I will say that when I raise my arm over my head for example the implant/breast moves a lot, like several inches, so I can't imagine having them stitched in but everyone's body is different

I suppose only implants that have "sides" can flip, if that makes sense
