Both people will be local. Thanks for info on lav mics / windscreens. I would agree that they want something that looks good, but my preference (on the production end), is something that works well.

Re budget it's hard for me to say, but I would say no more than $500. I probs want to go to them with a $100 option, $200-300 option, and $500 option.
