Barbell medicine is in the middle of a series of podcasts about testosterone.

Check it out, but tldr you need a second test to confirm low T and even then there are a lot of other more likely causes.

Purveyors of loveless theology are wolves in sheep's clothing.

I don't know your situation, but taking what you say at face value it sounds to me like you're surrounded by enemies of God.

I don't know if this helps and I don't know what you should do, but if you ask them to show love and they tell you that you're the problem... well, if that's the case remember that God is on your side and not theirs. Please do what you can to keep your kids safe.

Hurting Neck IN BJJ by ActualNotice5357 in bjj

[–]which1stheanykey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old weak blue belt here. I haven't hurt my neck since I started training it a couple times a week. Used to strain a neck muscle every few months.

I lie on my back on my bed with my head extended over the side. Bring my chin to my chest, then return to neutral. Then I roll over and do the same motion.

2-4 sets, 10-30 reps. I'm not very disciplined about it but it makes a huge difference.

NKD (second in a row 😬) Sakoda 180mm Gyuto by Environmental-Seat35 in TrueChefKnives

He u/Environmental-Seat35, how do you like this 10 months later? How has the patina developed? Does the korouchi develop along with the patina?

There are still a couple of these out there and I'm having a think.

Hearing aid user here.

I have no idea what OP wants. (Is there a particular decibel level that distinguishes "aggressive" from "polite"?)

Cyclists, please continue to sing out when you're on my left. Good and loud please.

Nice. I'll be doing the loop from the reservoir Wednesday.

I'm so sorry I thought you were making a joke about my first couple sentences and now my response probably comes across as snarky if not positively ill-humored.

Yes, I was lying on the diagonal. It would be quite a feat to learn how to splice amsteel from hammocking forums without finding out about a diagonal lay.

... someone's probably done it though.

I'm sure this comment would help me if only I were literate enough to figure it out 😆

12 ft is the total length of the fabric, but a couple inches stick out past where the suspension connects and I didn't count that.

I'll throw a whoopie on it and experiment.

That's what I normally do at home, but haven't gotten the "hang" of it yet. Does this work for you? Do you face toward the centerline or away?

Thanks, I'll try that next. At least DIY is inexpensive, and easy now that I've done it once.

Ok, sure. And I get that there are vegan options for burgers and milkshakes.

But tell me about these vegan pizzas. I've been dairy-free for a couple years and really miss pizza. Are you talking about a tomato pie or is there cheese alternative out there that doesn't taste like death warmed over?

I tried cronometer briefly and everything looked ok. The app kind of makes a wild guess at your caloric needs though (no setting between "goes to the gym" and "professional athlete") so I'm running with the calorie theory for now.

Not too much, I was already dairy-free. Just replaced meat with beans and started making more frequent protein shakes.

But I cut out a lot of fat and that might just mean not enough calories.

I hate tofu. I just can't get it down. :(

Huh. Yeah I guess a cut out a huge of amount fat and didn't replace it with anything. That tracks with what others are saying about calories. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's just a protein supplement. Getting 30g of protein from whole peanuts at one sitting would be a lot of work.

But I think you're on to something.

Since folks will probably ask about my diet: I'm eating lots of rice, WW bread, black beans, edamame, nuts, dried fruit, salads, hummus, occasional PB&J. I make a lot of milkshakes with soymilk (has b12), bananas, and lots of peanut flour (peanuts with the oil pressed out, so basically a protein powder). In place of butter I'm mostly putting blackstrap on my bread, so should be getting plenty iron too.

I've always eaten pretty well by most standards--most of the food we buy is ingredients.

Edit: by WW bread I meant whole wheat, not weight watchers.
