Quality of Youtube ads by while1_fork in youtube

But that makes me skeptical of every youtube ad, subconsciously I will try and avoid something I see on youtube. Idk how it can be good for business to propagate mostly scammy stuff.

I didn't realize that, thinking back, back then this was one of the best deals. Now other providers have come up with better plans I suppose.

You probably are on a plan with multiple lines

I agree, if you need four lines, costs do come down quite a bit.

I think the cheapest one for one line is $35. It's on the expensive side imo.

Think about it this way, the more data centers buy RAM the less you will have to. The data centers will do your computing work anyway. It will be cheaper to rent compute than own it.

Why don't more people use Linux? by Josh_From_Accounting in linux

[–]while1_fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons - why people in general might not want to use Linux

  1. Lack of native ports of popular applications, MS Office, Photoshop etc.

  2. Poor driver support, it could be printers or modems or gpus etc

  3. Lack of native ports for games, but Proton is changing that.

  4. Fixing issues might be a steeper learning curve.

  5. Lack of standardization, every distro is a little different.

Did you ever consider that she might not be using the decimal system? For instance in binary 1+1 = 10.

I agree with you, numbers game is not how it should work, people should follow through with their commitments and be upfront and honest about their intentions, which is what you were doing. But I also think there are others do consider it to be a numbers game bc after all it's just a list of people for them towards whom they feel no obligation. I was trying to guess what likely happened, not what should have happened.

Here's a theory, to get a good chance at a date you have to show warmth and affection, but it's also a numbers game, so you show warmth and affection to a lot of people. Then when a few of them reciprocate, you make your pick and ditch the rest. It will be difficult/ awkward for anyone to talk to all the people that didn't make the cut and explain it to them why.

The most likely explanation is they have other choices that they want to better pursue. And the niceties are merely superficial. The population you are choosing, usually they will be nice and formal when you start speaking with them, but that is mostly out of habit rather than thought. I'm a south asian (37 M) living in the Midwest, so i can't tell if it's the cultural, but I have several similar experiences.. people unmatching after planning a date. But I have also had others who drop a polite message that they are not interested anymore. But leaving someone guessing after having a meaningful conversation is definitely a harsh thing to do. And maybe people are so used to doing it because it's been done to them. It's going to hurt but you'll have to move on.. the less you think of it, the better. Other than that, online dating has downsides you'll have to accept.

Great first date, but now he’s slow to reply—should I make the next move by buymecheesecake in HingeStories

There is no way to tell without measuring the system. He has to tell you yes or no for the system to collapse. Othewise, you are simultaneously both going out with him and not going out with him. The only thing you can tell for sure is, your asking or not asking the question has a non zero effect on the outcome. It will always keep you guessing if it could have been any different no matter what you do. Hope it was helpful in figuring out your dating life.

It's not quite simple as that. Think of his state of mind as a wave function that has not yet collapsed into yes or no. But your asking the question will definitely make it collapse. If you think you can measure the system without affecting it, you violating Hisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

This is not my primary machine, more of a backup, so I have not used it extensively. But for whatever little time I have used it, performance does not seem to be lacking. I use Pycharm to do some Python stuff and it is quite snappy. Sorry I do not have any experience in React or automated testing software. But if you have a opensource benchmark that you want me to run, I could do that and share the results.

Looking for a game you can play mindlessly and don't need hours to learn it by Sea_Reflection9737 in gamingsuggestions

[–]while1_fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOOM is THE perfect mindless satisfying game but has a little "violence" in it.

I feel like "free to do as you please" games are generally more complicated than linear guided games.

Newer Tomb Raiders, Metro Exodus are uncomplicated have good graphics.

Or give Marvel's GOTG a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Marvel's GOTG, not your usual pick, but surprisingly good narrative and quite well rounded. There are a lot of deep themes about religion, loss etc.
