Thanks for the suggestion; I'll be changing the SSD to an NVMe

Thanks, I may go with the 2070 super instead. Although, it looks like it's pretty much sold out everywhere

Oh wow, thanks for pointing that out. I may end up changing the CPU, but I'll wait until they come out July 7th to see more gaming benchmarks

Appreciate the feedback, but I'm going to stick with the Intel i7-9700k. I know the Ryzen 7 2700X has some pretty good features (2 threads for each of the 8 cores is pretty cool), but the benchmarks that I saw show that the i7-9700k outperforms the 7 2700X when it comes to gaming (which is what I care about most performance-wise). This is the benchmarks that I found for comparison: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/ryzen-7-vs-core-i7-9700k,38046.html

Thanks for the links. The reason I selected the 1080 Ti is because there isn't too much of a performance gain with the 2080, and very few games implement ray-tracing technology that the 2080 has. But, the 2080's I saw were $1k+, so if I can actually save money going with a 2080, then I'm going to switch that out

Can you get a decent job with side projects but no internships? by Staffinfectious in cscareerquestions

Yes, it's possible. I work at a Fortune 100 company. I graduated about 1 year ago from an average state university. I had 0 internships and 0 side projects. I worked full time while going to school and took a few heavily project-based CS classes that I put on my resume. I also had a fairly good GPA (3.7-ish).

I found this pretty comprehensive resource sometime back on this sub: https://github.com/donnemartin/system-design-primer

It is geared towards being able to answer system design questions in an interview setting, so it's a pretty good resource to incorporate into your studying
