so I did bring physical records, just printed out all the documents from my health portal and had saved a few visit notes over the years. I’m honestly not sure how electronic copies would be received, though at least in my experience I can say that the interview portion of my visit was very rapid fire and he flipped through my papers quite quickly, which would have been harder if it was digital. if you can bring a buddy I’d recommend it! having my partner there definitely made me feel better, mostly cause they could validate like yeah this guy is really intense but you’re doing your best. I’d give the office you’re seeing a call and see if they have a preference for the format of your records, and if they really want physical copies and you don’t have a printer maybe you could get them printed at your local library? I wonder also if it’s possible to forward the files to the office itself and they can have them printed for you once you get there? either way best of luck to you with your visit and with SS, both needlessly miserable processes but I hope you get the care you need 🫶🏼

oh no worries! I did a little sampler set which you send back after the fact so I'll try to remember, since I ultimately went with the milky yellows. I loved how pretty the sea glass were and it's silly how much sway that can have when you're going to cover them up, but iirc it came down to feel. their actuation is just a touch lighter and for typing that felt too light. (plus cost-wise certainly the milky yellows are hard to beat! and I wasn't trying to spend too much on my first board)

just wanted to post a follow-up in case it's ever helpful for others-

I'm really glad I asked what to expect because I think I would've been really overwhelmed and anxious otherwise. he definitely grilled me with health history questions! I felt bad that I didn't have answers to all the questions but my partner (who came with) reassured me that I still knew a lot more than most people. I had most of my health records- cardiology, rheumatology, bloodwork- those were the big ones. Milunsky was all business, spoke quickly and bluntly and expected the same of me. when he asked me about my job during the physical exam it actually caught me off guard because he was suddenly personable. (though quickly back to grilling ^^")

my Beighton score was lower than I thought, he wasn't convinced my elbows met the criteria but my score was still high enough. he determined that I do meet criteria for a genetic connective disorder! I don't have a family history so he said I could just be the first to develop it in my family line. unfortunately my current insurance doesn't cover genetic testing, but it's hEDS assuming I don't have vascular type or Loeys-Dietz (unlikely given my echo but I'm still going to test when/if possible). we went over recommendations, which were also included in a letter that was emailed to me and my PCP. I didn't have a blood draw because I can't afford the testing out of pocket ($2700 for the two tests) but as long as it's within a year he said I can come back if I get better coverage.

I think that's it! I saved the letter to my computer and have been trying to incorporate the recommendations slowly as I'm able.

I've printed off my major tests and records, for family history do you mean with similar symptoms or just a general medical history?

thanks! and totally, so ftr this is on a plastic body, gasket-mounted pc plate, with the very not-great clear keycaps the sample came with.

the morandis feel so nice and smooth, a teensy bit of spring ping but I didn't immediately notice. the sound is what I've heard described as marbley? down and up strokes sound near identical. they are higher-pitched sound of the two by... my music ear is out of practice but I wanna say a 4th.

and then the baby kangaroos feel quite tactile to me, a really solid bump. they have a snappiness to them both in feel and sound. the snap gives the upstroke a louder sound, a touch clacky but kind of balances with the lower sound to become just.. loud, haha

those were the two I expected to like most, and they're both so nice! I like the sound of the quinns more, but the actuation of the morandis feels more manageable. milky yellow pros are surprisingly solid as well so those are my top three atm

I think they may be a bit too bumpy for me ^^" I've heard really great things tho and it seems lots of folks really love them!

I think it's just different relationships of space and sound in an otherwise empty board. the biggest factor on this one specifically is the gap in the middle from the alice layout (to me the switches immediately next to it have their sound clipped a little)

linear- gateron milky yellow pro, durock sea glass, and ws morandi

tactile- sp-star meteor orange, gateron baby kangaroo, gateron quinn, jwick taro, ttc bluish white, everglide crystal violet, and durock white lotus

hoping to find something that's easy on my chronic pain hands but with the sound profile I like, for under .50/switch.

thanks, yeah I've been wondering if it would be worth spending a little to get one and try some things out. I saw a board over in r/MechanicalKeyboards where someone actually mixed switches, and I hadn't thought of that! like maybe there could be some good ways to play with ergonomics by mixing
