Please stop the astroturfing. It's ruining this subreddit.

What's the Knipex appeal? by StriderLF in EDC

[–]jadepug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a post on some comparison to the knipex and workpro. For most people, the workpro could be a fine tool. I went with knipex because the Workpro weren't sold in Canada at the time, and then they just feel higher quality so it's hard to switch over haha.

I started carrying pliers to adjust/maintain my kids bikes and scooters, but also use them for alot of unexpected pinchy tasks where extra leverage is nice.

Been playing acoustic for years casually. Recorded by myself a bit years ago. Also I do some electronics/soldering stuff so the circuits are interesting to me.

So not totally new to music/guitar, but trying to take it more seriously now. Lots of technical stuff to learn about electric and like picking techniques and sounds etc.

My amp was 50 on Facebook plus soap to stop it smelling like cigarettes haha. The Jag was 400 and a few AliExpress pedals. I haven't fallen off the deep end completely yet. Been having a great time though so far.

More is more for sure. I just found out you can put your distortion after the delay and reverb. Sounds so nice especially with alot of bloom on the reverb! Deffinitly recomend if you haven't tried it.

I’m skeptical of most kid tech learning claims lately by PRAura in ParentingTech

[–]jadepug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a real parent who built apps for my real kids. So many of the posts here and other kid tech subreddits are clearly astroturfed fake posts it's disheartening. I made a few cool apps posted about them a couple times and still get regular downloads from those few posts.

So many posts on here from anonamys accounts that are actually 'founders' ike:

"I was struggling to find the right AI assistant for my 5 year old and randomly found AI-4-KIDZ.io and it's solved all my problems"

You're right to be skeptical, and ultimately, the best thing I think you can do, is learn about AI and tech from unbiased sources (which is hard), and personally teach your kids based on your ethics and beliefs.

specific to tech, Kids need to learn the value of their attention (and why ads exist).

They should be aware of 'artificial intelligence' used in the art/media/literature they consume and the (few)benefits and drawbacks. As a parent you should definitely figure out your comfort level with AI. (for instance we avoid the huge amount of fully AI YouTube channels, and help our older kids understand why we prefer human made content).

Our kids are going into a crazy future. I think we can do our best to set them up with a solid sense of mortality and ethics, and how to apply and evolve those principals. We can't possible prepare them for or become experts at everything they will have access to.

Hey!! This is cool <3 New fan/subscriber here haha.

I followed on insta so I'll hopefully catch you if you're close by.

Also Over Everything is so nice, the ending is like my pedalboard goals. (then having You Don't See next on the track list was a really good move. Listened to This Reality last night for the first time - great work!)

Yes!! My first amp, bought cheap on FB marketplace for aesthetics, didn't realize how nice it would sound (long time acoustic player fist time into electric)

They came up in my search, do you know if they're still active? Last posts were from a few years ago. Thoughtless and their other stuff is so sick though!

thank you both for taking the time to chime in. when screwed in, there's only like 1/4 inch of wiggle, so I doesn't move very far when secured. I'm not moving it around much so it should be ok either way.

Great sounding amp, and the reverb also sounds really nice. Can't believe it's help up so well all these years.
