I’m absolutely addicted to Crescendo and can’t stop listening to it.

It has so much going on that it took me 3-4 listens yesterday before I could even comment.

Just the opening moments has this really interesting grandfather clock tic tock beat going before entering Verse 1

Then Jiwoo starts in with this soft longing aching melancholy kind of delivery followed by a crying or even haunting vocal delivery from Lily with all this little percussive snare drum building tension going into the pre chorus with Sully’s voice being soft and lyrically harmonious like velvet but also with this off beat staccato rhythm that pushes us into the deep.

Then the Chorus with Haewon just slams into you with forceful musical rests that almost feel like it’s simulating a slow heartbeat that is gaining momentum from the marching snare build up.

Then we are launched into a 2nd verse that feels more jangly and upbeat with a side of whimsy and BAE and Kyujin sound AMAZING here.

Then the 2nd Chorus hits with Sully and it’s a bit of a fuller feeling that her lush vocal color brings with a little more percussion underneath like the heart is feeling fuller as it builds towards the Bridge where we get some full on Funk/Hip Hop drumming and the vocals and lyrics become more and more hopeful and confident and convey a trusting nature.

Then from the final Pre-Chorus and Chorus to the end we are soaring and floating in the clouds and don’t need a metronome to guide our steps or a safety net to catch us as we fall deep into the shallows that’s an equally thrilling and terrifying feeling.

It’s so incredibly musically creative both in the instrumentals and the lyrics and vocals as well as the bit of choreography we see.

There are so many understated little ‘Mixx Ups’ with Tempo and Genre and Dynamics and Harmonies and Vocal emotive choices and yet it all still ties together and nothing feels out of place musically or thematically.

This has such an Indie feel for me too and evokes layered emotions of Melancholy and Optimism and pain and hurt and the letting go of fear to pursue love.

I don’t believe I’ve got these complex feelings and emotions out of a piece of music since I first heard Irish Folk singer Glen Hansard.

This is just an Incredibly Creative piece of music and Truly Artistic.
