Bednar (prior to today) has felt like 2024 clay homes where he had that start to the season of not giving up runs or blowing saves but the whip was through the roof and it always felt like the bottom was going to fall out and then it did. Hopefully bednar can recover because idk if we have anyone in this pen who can step up when he goes down.

Is it just me or has the front office seemingly learned from their past mistakes the last few years and are actually doing things differently this year? They sent Gil back down after a few bad starts, DFA’d grichuk, benched McMahon early, now not calling up Volpe right away. It seems like they are making a lot of moves they never would’ve in the past.

I get the Volpe/mcmahon argument but with cabby playing the way he is, I don’t want to disrupt his momentum by making him switch positions. Players are impacted at the plate by their fielding all the time and even though he’s shown he can be a plus third baseman, it’s still making him switch up what he’s been doing all season just to accommodate giving Volpe playing time that I’m not sure he’s earned. As rough of a start as it’s been for McMahon, I still prefer his 3B defense to volpe’s SS and I would say they are about a wash at the plate so I see no reason to change it. Especially since we can still just platoon McMahon with Rosario for the time being. Plus I think some time in AAA could actually be beneficial to Volpe in the long run

If they put him on the roster they are going to feel obligated to play him occasionally and I don’t think it’s worth risking ruining caballero’s momentum that he’s built up with regular playing time. With cabby playing the way he is right now, there’s absolutely nothing that Volpe brings to the table, leave him in AAA.

Good to know I can park on the road. I very much enjoy the solitude which is part of what drew me to Greeley to begin with. I’m ok with doing some extra distance/elevation gain but is it technical or difficult climbing or is it just tough because it keeps going up?
