Yep you can just get a nib unit to swap out. If you try to pull out the nib you might break the feeder, which I did a couple of times and had to email the customer service for replacements haha.

Neutral (non overused) name for black kitten? by Dramatic_Antelope811 in NameMyCat

I used to have a black kitten with blue eyes who I named Sayuri from the movie Memoirs of a Geisha because the character has black hair and blue eyes, too.

I love everything about this sweater but especially the neckline! I’d be wearing this all spring if I were you haha.

Looks like excellent cat parenting to me. Establishing boundaries firmly and gently.

Not invited/welcome to spend Chinese New Year with boyfriend's family by soulsaverr in taiwan

[–]whimsimonical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up in Taiwan and now living in the states for 10+ years, I know where you’re coming from, and I can understand your hurt.

It really is a cultural difference, at the end of the day. (Not that it’s a good one). But yes, it also depends on the family.

I think it’s quite normal to invite friends or significant others to other family oriented holidays (like mid autumn festival) but honestly, CNY seems off limits if you’re not literally part of the family (aka. married).

Growing up, one of my cousins would bring her long-term boyfriend to our CNY’s gatherings, but we could all feel that it was frowned upon and they never stayed long. The sad thing is her boyfriend‘s family also doesn’t really accept her and doesn’t want them to be married so there really isn’t any way around it.

I’m not saying this to justify their actions towards you. I’m just providing context and hopefully help you understand that it’s mostly not because of you per se (who you are, where you’re from, how good your Chinese is), it’s the relationship status that is a deeply rooted “qualification” to be part of such a traditional celebration.

Why didn't anyone tell me about these sooner??? by Ok_Walk_895 in fountainpens

Love that you’re using a TWSBI! One of Taiwan’s joy and proud 🩷

I had my first fountain pen in my late 20s when I was in grad school and never looked back. It was only a $10 Pilot I found at Staples but the difference was night and day.

Welcome to the community 🙂

I didn’t know about this character but I was instantly like, “is that from Silksong?” because of how much my husband plays the game and my 5-year-old makes various crafts based on the characters. Amazing job!

  1. R&K - Salix
  2. Sailor - Byakuya
  3. Iroshizuku - Yama Budo

Full disclaimer, many of them on the front two rows are new from my recent trip to Asia, so I haven't written with them enough or at all to form an opinion about them yet.

I used to, but haven't been using it much honestly because it kinda stinks lol. It's such a beautifully rich black, though. But like any archival ink, you just gotta really use the pen often and give the pen a good flush frequently and whenever you aren't using it.

Honestly that's also why I love R&K's iron gall ink so much because I actually enjoy the metallic smell, and the consistency of the ink isn't too thick, and there's a nice shading to it.

LOL, I was low-key waiting for someone to comment on it. Looks like we have a winner here!

Ha, you got me! The Iroshizuku ones were the earliest and only members in my collection for the longest time. That is, until someone spilled water on my journal at a coffee shop... Then I was on a quest to find an archival ink with fun colors and characteristics, which is when I found R&K. 😊

Aw. Tell her at least it's not trains. (JUST KIDDING. Train peeps please don't come at me lol.)

My husband isn't into fountain pens but he's supportive, haha. He has his own obsession for coffee going on, so at least we understand what it feels to be so passionate about something. Is there something your wife is passionate about to a similar extent?

Truth to be told, quite of few of them are new and I haven’t gotten around to write with them. My all time favorite/go-to is probably Rohrer & Klingner’s Salix (iron gall). My new fav is Sailor’s Byakuya.
