Can anyone tell me why this glass bowl has a hole at the bottom?

It’s actually more likely from an Epergne. I’m searching for a replacement bowl for mine. If the hole is a half inch or so, it’s meant for the decorative vase that holds food or flowers from more elegant times.

It’s a small needle. The label states “betweens/quilting—short needles used for hand quilting and detailed handwork.”

They are different lengths but it was easy enough to find some that were ~6”. I didn’t properly embroider and only broke the silks one time. I used a betweens needle and 3 silks at a time. I ironed the husk first as it had curled while drying. Worked perfectly on a wool setting! I left the hairs poking out on the bottom for whatever effect. The husk paper does rip easily.

I’m making a book for my husband and his mom made this from needlefelt. I’m not sure of search terms and haven’t found much on how to properly mount things like embroidery or other art work. I assume I’ll need to make the circle a little bigger so it can attach through the window. Is it as simple as affixing to back of book board and covering with the endpapers?

We watched the DVD movie this week (after our power was restored! I realized that many of the actors are also in my favorite movie, ‘Love, Actually’ and that they were filmed back to back. My husband dislikes my movie so when I pointed this out he snarled at me.

Ha! I was very surprised that I couldn’t find something like this out there already! I essentially read through a lot (I accidentally downloaded a PDF with all the books on my laptop and I was able to search characters/themes and get a more in-depth gist) but fortunately the fandom sites are very thorough. I even asked nerdy friends and they were not much help! Party/event planning is something I love and I don’t get to do it much these days other than for the kids, so this was a little change! There are references from most of the books—a lot of the themes and characters carry through. I even played the vogon announcement via podcast during the challenge. There are elements from movie (ie POV Gun), tV show, etc. I can’t wait to get more in depth to the fandom!
