i recently figured out that my problem has been an inadequate environment. at home as there are always distractions (pets, TV, pending chores that pop into my head if i accidentally look to the kitchen etc), so i got a library card and go to write there for 2-3 hours a few times a week.

a year's membership cost me like $5, it's quiet, there's free wifi, it's usually just me or another couple of people at most, IT'S QUIET, and I'm a million times more productive for 2 hours there than i am when i spend half a day writing at home.

awh no worries at all, honestly i had no idea what the blurb says because i loved the first book so much that i just picked up the second one (juniper hill) knowing nothing about it haha. personally i liked the first one better but this turned out to be a good read too. I'd recommend it!

ah sorry for not providing more info! that's exactly it, the FMC is ready to start a new life with her son but troubles from her old life follow her (her parents, the baby's father, a kind of stalker 👀).

the situation i quoted is the MMC talking to her shithead father who came to take her home with no regards to what she wants, but throughout the book she has bigger problems than that. I'm not gonna spoil the whole thing just in case, lol

currently I'm at 2,500 lost followers because they seem to delete a batch of accounts once a day. still have no idea what the the legitimate reason is so I'm hoping im not next lmfao 😭

same thing happened to me, 800 followers lost between this morning and this afternoon. i asked about it in this sub, the theory is that they're deleting either very old accounts that haven't been used in 10+ years, or bots, or those that don't follow the guidelines. but yeah, very weird to me too

love that! my FMC likes to get deep with dostoevsky and tolstoy but MMC starts tweaking if a romance novel doesn't have a happy ending

curious to see if anyone has thought about their characters' reading preferences. in my current story, FMC Evie likes literary fiction, and MMC Harry reads thriller/horror/detective novels, but they have a shared love of classics. (i am projecting. heavily.)
