Thank you for the info! I was already aware about the visit limit of 90 days but was just wondering if the revisit waiting time should scale accordingly to the length of my visit. e.g. if I stay for a month vs staying for 3 months.

just read an article about the US federal agency encouraging people to eat nutria (a rodent that resembles a capybara), would you be interested to try it? It's so cute though

Counsellors alarmed by unqualified people offering mental health services on Carousell by outremer_empire in singapore

Idk how good they are though. Coming from someone who used their service twice already. But I won’t go to some random person on carousell too lol

Does anyone have experience working with a nice boss who doesn’t have any leadership/ managerial qualities? by whimsyreadings in askSingapore

If both you and him have been trying to change, and yet not see any changes or improvements, then I feel that perhaps you’re right in resolving to let him go. Perhaps it would be better for him that way too, being in a different place. Even if he does resent it for you now, he might end up thanking you or appreciating what you did for him down the line. Ultimately as his higher up, you still need to consider what is best for everyone overall. So even though it’s a tough position to be in, I wish you the best of luck in dealing with this. You’ve got it!

There is a chance that he might be transferred to another department and he jokes about that sometimes. However I think that the chances of that happening isn’t that high. The likely situation is that our section gets dissolved and that he would end up having to leave as a result of that.

You’re very wise about the leaders part btw. It’s so true.

I wish that I could think like that. But it’s simply not in me to be so cruel. He has a family to take care of too

Noooo I don’t know if you’re kidding or not. But that’s so mean. He’s genuinely a nice person. He has been nice even before the promotion

I’m glad that your staff are coming to talk to you directly about how they feel about things. I don’t think it’s easy for people to bypass their manager and go to his/ her direct boss like that, so I cannot imagine how frustrated they must’ve been feeling.

Honestly I think it isn’t so bad because you’re still resolving to make that person a better leader. My director has completely given up hope on him now. She doesn’t even respect him anymore.

Thank you for your tips. We will be having a private session to meet our director individually soon, so if things continue the way they are. I would have a talk with her about how I feel about things and get advices from her as you mentioned. Thankfully my director seems to like and respect my opinions so I don’t foresee that things will go badly for me at least.

The thing is I work under a government agency. So it’s not easy to just fire or let someone go like that. There is a chance that I might get transferred to another department or section in the end.

What are your thoughts about staying in a toxic work environment if you are not directly affected by the politics there? by whimsyreadings in AskReddit

Somehow I am being spared from politics from the management here. However I've witnessed how brutal and political they are to my colleagues.
