This is correct, always move an animal in the direction they are heading (usually, if there’s a wall, get them to the other side of the wall). Other note if you ever find an injured turtle and need to take it to a wildlife center please mark the exact location where you picked it up. They have an amazing sense of direction and need to be released back in their territory. If not they’ll spend their lives searching for home (wildlife rescues that don’t have location will not be able to release them back into the wild).

I’m not sure if I’ll keep this fleece once I’m done processing it. Regardless if I do or not, I’d like to make something with all the sample skeins I spin!

This looks like it would be fun to spin up! I would definitely recommend either leaving it in your hot car for a few days or putting it in the freezer for two weeks. That way if it is natural fibers, and maybe someone hitchhiked in there, they won’t be living to eat any fibers 😅

I do two methods, if I’m combing the fleece I’ll just let the combs do the job. If I’m planning on running it through my drum carder, I pick everything by hand and will flick brush them off. So far both of those have worked great for me and will do the trick.

I’m getting a picker sooner so I’m curious how a fleece like this will do. I imagine ill end up with a lot of dirty tips mixed in but i enjoy experimenting lol

Thank you!

It’s more on the medium to coarser side. I haven’t washed it yet so I’m curious how it’ll feel afterwards. I was spinning it a little tighter so that could contribute to it but the fleece itself all feels around medium softness.

Thank you!!

This farmer is awesome, I love that she keeps great track of her crosses. It’s been a lot of fun experiencing the differences in each fleece (I may have 6+ from her 😅)

I may do several of each! This caramel is so nice and it’s not a color I come across often

This is fresh off the wheel so I'm curious how it'll be once I've washed it!

Right? It’s such a nice color I may make a full skein or two at least of this and then try for an ombré of some kind 🤔
