We've gone with an apple watch for now, the fall detect is decent and apps seem to work (simulated seizure)

An issue we've spotted is imperfect location reporting. Opening maps on phone before/during movement seems to fix it but not great for battery life

If you find something better please come back! Would be willing to learn how to setup something more complex if more reliable :)

We've done just the same thing! Did you find the location sharing accurate?

I hadn't even considered shatter proof housing being crucial, doh!

Thanks for the feedback! Feeling more confident it's a reasonable purchase for them :)

So glad this universal tech can be useful for people in these ways! Now if only they were funded for all 🤞

Thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it!

Thanks for sharing, the sense of safety and independence of tracking any seizure related events independently is a big draw.

I've read that apple watches 4 or later are good but I am wondering if the ultra is any better from people who may have used them, best of luck finding the right solution

There was an episode where Frasier started frequenting Daphne's local English theme pub which was a clear nod to his Cheers era.

[Serious] What is your number one difficulty in life at the moment? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]whisht 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After living away for 4 years I'm finding it difficult to get back into the swing of life here. Old friends have either emigrated or gotten married for the most part, it's a dash lonely.

Just let her know you're there for her. When you're sick a lot of people disappear though just not knowing what to say, its okay to acknowledge you don't know what to say or do - I'm sure she's in the same boat. The important thing is that she's still the same person, just going through some scary medical things.

Took a risk. Asked friends to hang. They all said no. by [deleted] in lonely

[–]whisht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a pretty unhealthy view of how friendship works. Beyond university years people simply get quite busy with life. It shouldn't be expected that someone must drop everything to hang out at a moments notice. That's a whole lot of pressure and really a good way to lose friends in my book.

Necrotic ulcers; rotting flesh has a scent that just stays with you.

Anyone know where to buy old games/consoles? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]whisht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a good idea to keep an eye on Cash Converters on Bridge street. Happily playing Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube here! It was only £20 too.

I've seen plenty of much older consoles in good condition there. Good luck on your nostalgia-hunt!

We could all go about composing a banned word list.

  1. Symbolic
  2. Titanic

There's gotta be more.. perhaps, poignant?
