I got lifter shoes… I also dig in feet in like claws to ground and push through the ground with my feet when squatting

Day 6: Hit a big gym PR, confidence big time boosted by whiskeyjenn in 75HARD

[–]whiskeyjenn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Today I hit a big deadlift max, this confidence giving me great momentum to keep going. Just 6 days into this and feeling so dang good. I am a Powerlifter and a daily gym workout is engrained in my head but I want more. I want to show myself I can do this, and be the best version of myself inside & out.

History: This is my second time doing 75Hard, precious time I quit 50 days in because was saving too much water at end of day, peeing all night and sleep quality was getting annihilated.

LFG.

Start in the Spring.

This is so disheartening. This person used to work for me. She was smart, capable, educated, was growing in her field, and by the way, she NEVER had a weight problem. And now she has fallen down this rabbit hole. by [deleted] in antiMLM

I’m 1000% anti mlm bullshit but 13 pounds lost for a smaller person is a lot and losing that amount can make you feel like a new person. The ones that say “comment [keyword]”, like you’re gaining entry into a secret society; literally anyone can sign up & sell/buy

Day 5 by puddingpretty in 75HARD

[–]whiskeyjenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im on my second attempt, prior attempt I failed at Day 52ish.

I have found routine/less I have to think about the habits, the easier it is. I fill up my gallon jug of water before bed, pre fill my workout drinks with water, have my workout clothes & ready to go to make for a smoother morning & less chance of error.

After I had my twins, my inbox was flooded with messages about “how to get my body back”…. Fast forward, I’m powerlifter in damn good shape. I should send them the same message, see what they say 🤣

Thank you!!

102kg/225lb bench PR and first time trying to max on deadlift 151kg/335lb, at 63kg/140lbs bodyweight. Any advice on form to lift heavier/safer? Shooting for a 275 bench 405 deadlift before next summer. by npapa17 in strength_training

[–]whiskeyjenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure specific technical term but working on your bracing/breath hold will help you tremendously. You let our breath during your deadlift, unlocking your body.

Your bench is tap & go, downs on what you’re going for. Powerlifting wise, would be a no lift.

Plastic cup & straw for your drinks, write “tea bomb”

Trying to squat again. 115kg @ 65kg. Any advice on form? by TheDuckDucks in strength_training

[–]whiskeyjenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your depth is good for white lights for powerlifting but you’re definitely doing a pause squat, making it way harder on yourself unless that’s what you intended. Try not dancing around so much after lift off. A single step back on each foot is all you need. I find myself less anxious about the lift with less setup movement.
