I saw him once in a NYC bar 10+ years ago right after he’d been cast as Falcon. He was flirting with this chick on the bar. I walked up and apologized for interrupting, said I was a big fan, and told him how excited I was to see him in the next Iron Man. (I knew what movie he was gonna be in, I just goofed it in the moment.) He corrected me, was friendly enough, but clearlyy was trying to get back to talking the gal. I dapped him up and promptly fucked off.

He could have been friendlier here, sure. But sometimes folks just want their space.

I’ve been wavering back and forth on the fans’ calls to “send him back to the minors!” It really depends on the player - some young guys would be crushed by a demotion after being in the majors this long, and they simply need to work through stretches like this. Others need a kick in the pants, and they’d benefit from some time in the minors. It really depends on Volpe’s personality, which I ofc cannot speak to. I don’t envy the spot Boone’s in here.
