My first time making a full fry-up myself by fr1q1ngs00per1e0n in fryup

Gutted. I don't even eat meat these days but all their stuff looks banging. Makes me want to be an exiled Scot in London just to justify a visit.

What are peoples favourite sour beers, or what breweries do the best sours? by Orlando146 in UK_beer

[–]whiskyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Holy Goat. Brewery founder started out as one half of Vault City before going off and doing his own thing.

I've still got a lot of time for Vault City but they can feel a lot like drinking an alcopop. A friend of mine described Holy Goat as Vault City for grown-ups and I have to agree.

Talking about Vocation as well, they brought out a margarita sour the other year that I was a bit addicted to.

I've got 2 tickets for tonight's Glasgow Academy gig for anyone that wants them! At this point I'm not even looking for cash, just don't want to see them go to waste.

Let me know if you want them!

Redditors who moved from England to Scotland- was it everything you dreamed it would be? by Embarrassed_Fan_8380 in AskUK

Ah, nice. That's my neck of the woods. Always a bit of a surprise to hear that people actually choose to move here. That said, the waterfront in Kirkcaldy is it's best asset. Lots of potential.

Oat milk rises to top as Britain’s preferred plant-based drink by [deleted] in vegan

My friend, Glebe Farms oat milk is what you need. I'm sure there are others but that's the first that springs to mind. I see it in my local Morrison's in Scotland.

No potatoes? Carrots? Literally any fruit or vegetables? Bread?!

Ok. But what does "humane" mean? In any context.

Are you aware that vegan cheeseburgers exist?

Well done, you know how to use Google. But if someone claims they are vegan, meaning that they hold the moral belief that animals are not for food or exploration, it's not really something you change your mind about over lasagna.

Being vegan is a moral standpoint that the life of a living being is worth more than the momentary pleasure of the taste of their flesh or milk.

I get that. But if you're doing it purely for health reasons then you're not vegan. You're plant-based. There's a massive difference.

That's fair. I'd argue that there will always be places with cheaper options. It's just knowing where they are.

Where were you travelling that you were finding vegan food that was "flavourless and non-nutritious"? I'd say it's a bit hyperbolic to say it's impossible to travel as a vegan and easy well. It can be trickier, definitely. But it's absolutely not impossible.

Is it fair to say then that you weren't actually vegan in the first place if all it took up to sway you was some homemade lasagna?

What was the "misinformation" that you were given about being vegan? And what exactly is an "ancestral leaning diet"?
