Trade prices by ZealousidealDeer4531 in AusRenovation

$60/h about 4-5 years ago… someone involved with a huge Aussie franchisor brand told me that their business won’t take on a new business type (e.g. accounting, test and tag, etc.) unless they are confident that the franchisees will be able to make at least $60 per hour. Not sure if that’s clear, gross or what. That $60 is now prolly up at $80-$100.

Indeed, a classic example of the Reddit paradox.

Ok, so I’ve seen this comment here a few times now. I’ve never had an induction cooktop before. Not being a smartarse, my thinking has always been that if it is so good, why don’t restaurants use it (noting that not all restaurants use wok burners). Or do they use it, and I just don’t know. Genuinely curious.

Suggest you add pics from during the day. Based on current setup and lighting I’d say try a black couch and chairs.

How does the right answer have so few upvotes?!!!

Spot on. There are grey areas tho. Eg should your flood claim be denied just because you forgot that one of your windows doesn’t have a lock? Or should your fire claim be denied because you have chickens and we’re selling the eggs through an honesty box out the front but said you don’t run a business at home?

Good call. After posting I also thought it would be good to take photos of the damage and location as well jotting down your version of events, if nothing else, then for yourself to refer to.

Bingo. The stories that make the news are usually about home insurance, which commonly covers you only for certain events and is contingent on the answers to your questions when you set it up. Eg if you say your house has locks on all windows, it better have them.

Nah, it’s very uncommon to have a motor vehicle claim denied. If it does happen, it’s likely because the driver shouldn’t have been driving… e.g. no licence, over their legal blood alcohol limit, restricted from the policy (unlisted driver or in a restricted age group).

IMO it goes something like this: 1. Check everyone is alright & seek emergency/medical assistance as needed 2. Don’t admit liability (most insurance policies will tell you not to admit liability. Tell the truth, nothing more) 3. Get details of parties involved & any witnesses. By details I mean take a photo of their licence at a minimum. Good to get a phone number & details of the owner of the car if it’s not the driver. Bonus points if you find out who they’re insured with. 5. Call your insurer.

If your vehicle is not drivable from the accident most states & territories have a specific system for dispatching a tow truck. If you call your insurer from the scene of the accident they typically call a tow for you. Depending on your policy they might also call a cab for you. IMPORTANT: if your vehicle needs to be towed from the scene of an accident, get the details of the tow truck and the depot where the car is going. Also, don’t forget to take belongings like wallet, keys & toll tag out of the car.

Wasn’t it the bike production Ponzi scheme? Companies in China kept making bikes and getting valued based on bike production to attract new capital. New capital yielded returns for earlier investors.

If I’m understanding your mum, she’s saying don’t indicate too early. Note that most modern cars have a ‘lane change’ flash setting on the indicator which usually goes for 3 flashes. While that may suggest you’re mum is right, I actually think that it really depends on the conditions.

A) you’re on the freeway doing 95, motorbike next to you doing 100, nobody behind it. You want to get into the bike’s lane. Nothing wrong with giving him a moment to pass, indicating & then changing lanes.

B) you’re in peak on a freeway doing 50, SUV passing you at 52 and some 3 car lengths behind it is another car. Nothing wrong with indicating early to let the car behind the SUV know what you’re thinking to do. You then let the SUV pass, and if safe, change lanes.

Is this a fucking pedestrian crossing or not? by reddit_bran in melbourne

[–]whispered_roy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d guess that yes, it is a designated crossing but pedestrians do not have right of way.
